  1. This is the Original one Owner unrestored TR5 which was at the Lincoln show in 2016 (I think)

Air Cleaner is Silver Hammerite type finish, but you can only just make out the Plenum, looks like Satin black finish?

  2. Another option I was considering to fit over the Pump was something like the Heat sink & Fan here used on Model Race Cars, although I struggled to find one the correct diameter for the Lucas Pump?

(I did fit a heat sink designed to cool a Training Bike motor but it didn't work well:wub:)

  3. Although I have now sold my car one Option I was considering with my car also retaining the Lucas Pump was a Fuel Cooler as fitted to most modern Diesel cars?

I was always amazed how hot the pump got, on one of the hottest days of the summer a couple of years ago I could hardly touch the pump after returning from a Triumph show at Santa Pod raceway, although I never let the tank drop below a Quarter full

Have a look on E-Bay, the one I was considering plumbing into my fuel system was for an X-Type Diesel Jag I seem to remember.

Interesting, clearly tweaked, with a 0-60 of 6.3 secs in period!

A Typo there for sure, 0-50 more like?

No sure how much difference the Press car link will make to the price, but the estimate does seem a bit low, we shall see.

I had a similar problem on my TR5 which baffled me and a couple of other far more knowledgeable guys for a couple of months?

It was a Pea sized lump of congealed Fuel or something or other rolling around inside the tank and blocking the Outlet!

I suggest you drain and remove the tank and give it a thorough clean out.

  6. When I submitted the comments regarding the Advert being fraudulent, I got an immediate response saying thank you, that's it?

I do know someone local to me who was conned by one of these E-Bay ads on a TR5 a number of years ago.

I always say that if it's to good to be true then 99 times out of a 100 it will be a Con!!

  7. I've just had my usual Lunchtime look on E-Bay and noticed yet more Fraudulent listings on E-Bay

This particular seller (MANIEKMR) has numerous Triumph & Sunbeam cars listed (No doubt other makes too?) with one particular TR250 Listed for the Uumpteenth time!!

I have reported a number of the cars to E-Bay, this fraudulent listing practice has been going on for a number of years but seems to be getting more and more common on the E-Bay and Car and Classic sites, typical signs are very cheap buy it now prices and only one Photo listed, with statements like selling on behalf of a family member?

Be careful out there if your on the lookout for a Classic Car.

    Regards

    Gary

  8. I can relate to this too, it's even harder if you've spent years and ££££ restoring the car:(

I was sad when Mine went off to Northern Ireland in February, but felt worse when I sold my Vitesse in 2015 after owning it for 13 years and spending over 4 years restoring it.

As Conrad says, a pint or two will help!

  9. Ensuring a gas or liquid-tight connection means understandingtapered pipe threads. NPT, National Pipe Taper (American) and BSPT (British standard Pipe Taper) are tapered pipe threadstandards. Male and female tapered pipe threads wedge themselves together but need a sealant for a completely leak-free connection.
