I currently use (and have done for a while since VR1 prices escalated rapidly) Classic Oils Heritage mineral 20/50, still very competitively priced and the Zn as ZDDP stated correctly, but there is a shipping charge if spending less than £75 now (buying a 20l drum is even better value and free shipping)

They certainly didn’t come out of it very well did they, although 33 of 89 is much closer to a third than a half. Having worked through more audits than I care to remember there are always nuances which are not very obvious in summarised reporting - I’d expect there were, and continue to be, some very interesting remediating activities underway.

I’d suggest Peter James and Classicline for alternative quotations, they are both usually competitive

Hi Marco,
I think there is a Tin Mining attraction at Geevor near Penzance which could be interesting as part of Cornwalls historic industry. Lands End is also close-by if you have not been before.

I’d suggest getting some shipping quotes first - with those in-hand you will be able to quickly figure out if that level of uplift on top of a likely sale price in Australia is worth the effort. I doubt the UK market is particularly buoyant at the moment.

No surprise that many folk are encouraging you to have a go yourself, none of it is particularly hard to do - but of course you need to have the confidence to try in the first place and be willing to learn new stuff which usually includes making mistakes along the way (everyone makes mistakes, and they are all fixable!)
if you really don’t want to do it - which is your prerogative - then the link you provided does include a list of stuff they would do (if applicable to the car) so you have something to enable you to compare quotes from other garages. The long-established small local places are more likely to be able to help and as mentioned earlier someone like TRGB would be able to give you a comparative quote and you can work from there to decide who to use.
if you are in contact with your local Register group or more general Classic Car meets/groups they can probably offer some local recommendations which may help.
good luck whichever way you go

Sitting (kind of) this one out following a recent hip-replacement - have fun everyone!

I added a Revington auxiliary fuse box ahead of installing my Revotec-controlled electric fan so used one of those feeds. I didn’t fancy adding extra load to older wiring.

I have a pair of these as well - actually I have 2 - one pair in the TR and the other in my wife’s car

Back to the original topic here is an update
Used the yellow specs again this evening in good weather conditions on busy main roads and there was no problem with slightly reduced light transmission because of yellow tint. Also no more problems with glare from the LED headlights in either oncoming traffic or those behind despite best efforts of one tailgater on full beam. Rural roads on dip beam also ok. So overall quite pleased with the results for the first pair. I think my slight problems last night were because the weather conditions were pretty bad.
Next I will try out the slightly darker tinted pair.
Keith
Thanks for the update Keith, as always the prof of the pudding etc. and it is good to hear that you have found them to be helpful.

Useless fact -
A in this context usually stands for 'assembly'.
Thanks Rob - I love to extend my knowledge of (almost) worthless info

PMA !!!
The Lumenition optronic system has a silver finned box with wires going into and out of it - called a PMA50 - the P stands for Power, the M stands for Module - I don’t know what the A stands for!
In the Lumenition instructions and parts book it is usually referred to as the PMA.
if you follow the wires back from the optical switch in the distributor you will come across a 3-pin connector plug.
Apologies if my earlier post upset you.

The 3-pin connector from the PMA to the optical switch is a common failure-point of the Lumenition wiring, probably worth checking while you are at it.

Is there a discount code for this event?
No, just the usual reduced price for buying in advance rather than on the door

The Stag ones are plastic, the same as those fitted to CR/CF1 6’s onwards

Not sure that the length of the warranty is relevant Bob, it's their willingness to honour the warranty that's the issue
A very fair point John, I have chosen Costco and Halfords in the past for exactly that reason.

I guess no one is having their arm twisted to attend so you can decide what works for you and attend or not. I don’t think I’d bother at £25 a pop, but if it was my only pleasure in life I may see it differently.

My apologies - I wasn’t being derogatory about Revotec (I use their controller ) but just mentioned the model of electric fan I have in place and am happy with on my daily driver. My rad has tabs welded to it so the fitment is simple.

Yes, good choice - they do appear at quite a few gatherings, so always worth grabbing some (often I small discount as well)
