Don’t give up on your bullets. It looks like you have ones which adjust in two places. I had the fixed sort and on the passenger side could only ever see the hedge wizzing past on that side. Once I changed to the ones in the photo below, they work fine. Pics are of them on my TR5.
Hope that helps.

Well, decided on Mintex 1144.
Just now need to find time to fit. I will report on the hopeful “dust” improvement in a few months time.
Thanks to all as always.

Probably the TR5 as the TR7V8 went to Shepton Mallet last year.
See you there.

Yes Kev, still got the TR5 and going well.
Might see you at Malvern if you are going. We are.

Thanks Stuart. Unfortunately Hawk do not do pads for the Princess Callipers. Cambridge Motor Sports were very helpful, but don’t have any other suggestions for road use pads.
John, I see the Mintex 1155 pads show as mainly for track use. That is not for me.
If I find something better than Green Stuff, I will post here.
Thanks guys

Acquired a nice TR7V8, but the pads throw lots of dust onto the wheels after only a few miles. I know everyone will have favourites, but are there any pads which leave reduced dust deposits?
What are the expensive Hawk pads like for dust Stuart?
Currently running 4 pot princess callipers with Green Stuff EBC pads.
Thanks in advance.

Lea Valley Group member, Graham Teeson, is currently on a solo TRip in his TR4 around the coast of Britain. He set off on 25th April and has been having 12 hour days, staying overnight in a one man tent. He picked up the coast around Canvey Island and meandered his way up the East coast, into Scotland and over to the West before dropping down through Wales, Devon & Cornwall. He is currently on the Isle of Wight for 48 hours relaxation, before finishing the whole journey Sunday evening 21st May.
TRR members in Scotland met him along the way and escorted him for some of the time, with Pinky looking after him now on the IOW.
if anyone wants to support Graham, he is doing the Trip for Guide Dogs for the Blind with a Just giving page
https://www.justgiving.com/page/graham-teeson-5000-miles-25-days
This will be some achievement for Graham who is 10 years older than his Triumph. LVG members think he must have a screw loose, but are in awe of his determination and effort. Go Graham Go……

I have had TTrac’s on my TR5 for 4 or 5 years, but without tubes and have had no problems and like the tyres.

I used Rustbusters in Spalding, Lincolnshire for my TR5 around 4 years ago and have been very happy with their work. It does tend to get all over the components on the underside, but that is the point. They masked off what was needed to be isolated.

Not sure I can answer your question directly. I believe Equipment4garages import the lifts from China, having commissioned the build themselves. Before I purchased, which I now see was in 2016, I went to their trading premises near St Albans, Hertfordshire. It was a farm without fancy showroom facilities, but they were very helpful and set up a lift to demonstrate while I was there. They were organising a barn area for customers to visit to see their products and I would expect that they are better organised now. I am sure a phone call to them would be able to elaborate.

I got a mid rise lift from Equipment4 garages around 4 years ago and have not looked back. It has proved reliable and the portable nature of it is also useful. It is not light to move, but just about possible for one person. In the main, mine sits in my garage and my TR5 sits over it without having to sink it into the floor. This mid rise lift (I have the 3ton version), has a narrower centre gap than the Strongman, although one of my chums has that and his TR5 fits on it ok. You just have to be a bit more careful positioning the car.
The lift locks well and gives confidence that it is located properly and not just reliant on hydraulic pressure to keep it up. The metre rise is wonderful when you first get it (compared to scissor jacks and axle stands), but after 4 years I wish I could stand under the car. That’s just me getting older, so ignore me and I would say get one. It cost me £1500 inc VAT when I got it, but I can see it’s gone up a little. Still good value to me and you will be surprised how often you use it. No connection to the company, just a satisfied customer.
Any questions just PM me and we can speak. Hope that helps.

Happy to wait Steve.
My electrical experiences are poor enough, without any doubt about the units working. Your hard work/development is much appreciated. Keep me posted as and when.

Yes please Steve. Looks like your run will be gone very soon.

Peace of mind. Change to what Stuart has recommended. A few pounds to protect a valuable car makes sense to me, especially as it’s an easy thing to do.

John. Don’t be frightened of being able to master Android or iPhone. Both are just different and not difficult (accepting that as we get older it does take a bit more getting used to) and in the main the systems of both are reasonably intuitive. You master being a coordinator of the TRR forum, so will be able to master a phone.
As you can see you ask a question and get various views about the numerous options. A bit like saying “what are the best spark plug?”
It does however sound like you need to get up to speed with a modern device. Keep an open mind and you will be amazed how good today’s phone really are (or should I say phone/camera/pc)

Matt is a TRR member and as one of the committee of his local group, I have tried to make contact with him to assist. So far no response, but he has not revisited the forum since his original post on 5th Feb. If contact is made, I am sure we can help him.

i have been looking for one of those lamps for a while. Is it for sale? I have sent you a pm.

I had a similar issue on my 5. The slotted aluminium pad actually fell out and I heard it pass under the car and saw it bouncing in the road in my rear view mirror! This happened around 4 months ago, so I cannot remember exactly, but I know I replaced the rubber pad too and it was not a hard job.

Hi Steve
I was having failures of the ball on the links on my TR5 so got a set of upgrades from CDD. They were fitted over a year ago and both sides are still OK. Others will no doubt have views soon.

Sorry to be slow coming back Garry, been out in my car today…top down.
I don’t know the make. I got them from Bad Boy Classics and can see they still sell them.

Not cheap, but pointless getting the single adjustment sort unless you can mount them to actually give the rearward view you need……. I couldn’t.
No connection with the company, just pleased with their product which has been on my car for 4 years now.
