    Centres may be giving appointments 12 seems hence, but can you imagine the furore if they started before a very large proportion of the population had their first?    Those in charge of the Westminster Village Council are u likely to risk the opprobrium they would get if that happened. As I have recorded, Lancaster's project has been the victim of political rationing, and that will continue, to keep politicians comfortable.

    As those who have their first will know, you are presented with a card shown g details of the vaccine you have been given.    Already, peop!e are asking if this is their "Vaccination Passport, because they want to book a holiday!   No,it's not, there's no such thing.   Yet and it so t be a manky card.

    It's the way it works John

    Personnally, as a member of the very, very nearly 70 club, I think they started at the wrong end.

    I know why they did it, but, I feel that returning to some sort of normality would have been quicker, had they started with the lower end of the working age group.

    Under 35's ish are not so badly affected by the virus.

    Do the 40' then the 50's then the 60's.  These are the one who are mixing and most likely to be spreading the virus

    I can wait

    I have waited and been careful for 11 months, another 4 wouldn't kill me.

    Right now, the number of younger people being admitted with the virus is increasing

    Those were given before the decision to delay seconds.    None are  being given currently.

    Had our 1st jab this morning (The Oxford AZ) at a surgury 6 miles away.
    Lots of stories of queues, delays, bad tempers and general disorganisation

    SWMBO had a 09.00 appointment, mine was 09.24.
    I had the jab at 08.56, SWMBO had hers at 08.58.

    2nd jab confirmed 12 weeks hence
    In and out in less than 10 minutes

    Well organised throughout

    Sadly opinions in this thread from London, Chelmsford, Frome, West Sussex, Wakefield and Cheshire do not matter a scrap.    What will matter are the opinions of Scots, and they are overwhelmingly in favour of the SNP, and their vote in the previous referendum has now reversed to be in favour of independance.

      See: https://www.newstatesman.com/politics/scotland/2021/01/scottish-independence-poll-tracker-will-scotland-vote-leave-uk

    To congratulate workers in vaccine production and delivery in Scotland might be considered "essential" travel for a Prime Minister, but there can be no doubt that dePiffle Johnson's choice to do so in highly controlled situations, with carefully selected and limited people, was to protect him from what would otherwise have been an opportunity for Scots to demonstrate their contempt.   Just to do so, and in such circumstnces, plays into the hands of the SNP, and will increase their majority.

    Daughter was an Honourary Scot, a Scottish International by residence, and now by marriage.      If it does happen, I might look for Scots citizenship through her, if an association down the generations works as well as for the thousands who have suddenly found Irish, and other EU ancestors.

    John

    Apologies for the delay in replying, I've only just got back to this thread, what I would say in reply is;

    Agreed, our opinions here, are irrelevant, but, luckily, out in the wider world, each one counts, minutely, but, even so, it counts

    I would suggest that the Scots not so much are overwhelmingly in favour of the SNP, as underwhelmingly represented by the alternatives.

    Why is Mr Johnsons trip to West Lothian derided and ridiculed, but, a trip to Oxford or Wrexham, acceptable?

    Is the careful selection of people and stage management involved really an issue?

    Is Mr Johnson the only politician to do it?

    The inference, although not written or suggested, is that Mrs Sturgeon is not guilty of the same and that the management of Mr Johnsons trip, was special, designed to protect him from raging Scots.

    Again, I would suggest the Mrs Sturgeon is guilty of the same, meaning she is not pressed on her many fiscal failings.

    As for taking Scottish citizenship, well there is at least one precedence that I know of;

    I am on another, none vehicle related forum.

    Also on the forum is a guy, from Lancashire, who has Polish paternal grandparents.

    He is an ardent European and so, within 6 months of the Brexit referendum result, applied for and received German citizenship and has been resident in Karrst for over 18 months.

    He is happier and this comes through in his forum postings (he is also happy to say so at any given opportunity), so, I would say, if it will make you happier John, go for it, we each have one life and you should do what your heart tell you to do.

    Sometimes heart over head is the right way to go.

    I know that, all the above does not matter a scrap, but, I feel better for it.

  4. What is worrying about Rogers point is, if we in England are able to vote on Scottish independence, there will be a vote for said independence.

    Many people I know are so fed up up with all the SNP noise, they would happily send her and by default, her country, on their way.

    Who said romance is dead.

    This is how I met my wife in 1994 .

    Being a kiwi on his big OE in London I got pissed off when drinking in west end pubs if you put your beer down on a table the bloody staff would clear it away. Anyway to avoid that situation whilst out on a bender with my mates I turned round to the leggy blonde next to me and said “hold my beer love while I go for a pee”  When I came back I was pleased to see the blond looking confused and more importantly still holding my beer. It was only when I thanked her that I figured out she was French and didn’t really understand a word. 26 years and 3 kids later I still think she is a bit confused :D

    cheers

    I met my wife for the first time in 1982 when I drove from Geneva in my TR6 and picked her up at Heathrow airport (she just got off a plane from Boston)  after which we drove up to the Lake District to attend the Lakes tour in Newby Bridge

    Talk about going the extra mile!

    Did you know what you were driving into?

    Roger and I first met at the twenty first birthday party of my classmates sister when the three of us were aged 20. All 3 girls went to Swakeleys Academy for young ladies in Ickenham.
    Roger and his friend and classmate Hugh, Janice’s boyfriend, were also classmates. Did you follow that?

    Janice’s sister was called Carole.

    Roger and Hugh went to Our Lady and St Anselms Catholic School in Hayes, I always vowed I would not marry a Catholic.

    Never say never Sue, it comes back to bite you and to be fair, he polished up alright, under your tutelage.

  8. I don't know (or can't remember, take your pick), if this has been run before, if so, I can remove it, but, there is similar on another forum and I thought it might be worth a try here;

    Anyway, how did you meet your other half?

    To be fair, I'll kick off;

    1st saw her when the school bus was dropping her brother off at our all boys school;
    The Saint Birinus Academy for the Sons of Gentlefolk.

    1st date;
    Fixed up by me writing a short note, gave it to my sister, who went to the girls grammer shool, where she gave it to SWMBO sister, who went to the same school, who gave it to SWMBO, who went to the girls Secondary Modern school, when they met on the school bus, on the way home.

    With me so far?

    My letter writing seemed to work, as, a couple of letters later, our 1st date was at the local Baptist Church youth club; 08/09/68

    You will not do better than utilise the bottomless well of knowledge here.

    Ask a question, any question and answers will be quick and comprehensive.

    I found that, with time, I started offering advice to newcomers . . . Who would have thought . . . . . . . .

    Back in the late 60's my dad saw one in a shed in New Zealand.

    He asked "how much"

    The owner said "around £12k" (over £234k today)

    Dad offered to buy it and ship it home

    Reply; "Ummmmm, no, it's alright where it is"

  11. Must admit V-Power was my choice, but, following a long and informed thread on this forum, moved to Esso Synergy.

    The V-Power has ethanol added, whereas here in the South, we were reliably informed the Synergy hadn't.

    Where you lived dictated which refinery your fuel comes from and in some areas, Synergy has ethanol added, so some searching on here would be in order.

    Note

    If my memory serves, it's the MU that suffers with ethanol . . . .

    Full blown lefty sentiments I see "nothing to see here"

    apart from

    mandated election monitors refused entry and access.

    Counting offices shuttered off from access.

    Sheriffs refusing to enforce court rulings on access.

    130,000 postal ballots came in at 4 am after counting stopped for the night all for Bidon!!!!!!!!!!

    Postal ballots in dumpsters all over the place.

    Video evidence of vote counters filling in ballots.

    Only states where Democrats have Governors and supreme court judges are there major issues and these being swing states with history of voter fraud even as recent as last year.

    Bidon and his family have been in for 47 years and done nothing.

    The man only talks when he has an autocue.

    Bidon admitted on screen that he didn't need voters as he had the biggest fraud network in history working for him.

    Freudian slip or senile old man.

    States that destroy ballot papers so no recount is possible even though mandated to keep for a year after counting.

    Do tell us what is so bad that Trump has done that warrants this degree of hate in UK.

    Apart from the lowest unemployment rate in history for black and latinos, an economy that was flourishing like never before.

    Prison reform for blacks.

    No wars for 4 years.

    Destroying AL KEIDA

    I could go on for ages about his accomplishments.

    In my view his only real fault is that he shook up the status quo that allowed corruption to go on for decades. There was and is a tacit arrangement that bribes and grift are OK as long as you don't get caught.

    Roger I am stunned that you put those word to print but I see you dislike him and even I don't agree with everything he says, yes he's brash non P.C but he has the American peoples best interests at heart and who can doubt that.

    Out of interest where do you go for your news?

    bringing troups home

    "COME ON MAN"

    This is a man that presided over a 16 billion dollar unaccounted loss of US tax payers cash.

    Blackmailed a foreign state that they would not get a Billion dollars from US unless they fired the prosecuter investigating the company his son was a director on $89.00/month with no experience.

    On the face of it lied to US voters that he never spoke to his son about his business interests.

    His son on the face of it is a pervert if the pictures and videos on the laptop are true. Creepy Joe like kids to stroke the hairs on his legs in the pool and sniff minors.

    Thats the type of president you want???????????????????????

    My 1st questions are a general ones Rob;

    Where do you get your facts from?

    Can you supply links for us?

    130,000 additional votes?

    Voters in the USA are allowed to make their vote by post, right up until the polls close on polling day.

    As a result, it is entirely possible for a huge volume of completely legitimate votes to arrive 3 or 4 days after polling day.

    The comment about having a fraud system . . .proven to be a fraud in its self, a cut and paste job.

    Destroying Al Kieda?

    Do you want to tell that to Austria and France?

    I have no preference either way regarding the 2 gentlemen involved.

    I have much more important things to worry about here, including a serious hospital visit on Tuesday, however

    In the name of balance, how about you offer a negative for Mr Trump, for every negative you have offered for Mr Bidon, at the moment, you are tending to sound very much like the crowd outside the Pennsylvania vote counting offices.

    In order to be listened too, everyone needs to offer balanced well thought out arguments, using facts, not fiction.

    That includes us, the forumites

    Mr Trump has a history of using fiction.  Remember, his team invented the phrase 'fake news'
