  1. Hi, interested in knowing if anyone in the TR Register owns my TR3a which I purchased in 1975 and sold in 2021 to Mark O'Malley. Just interested in how the new owner is getting on. I purchased the car off a friend for £120 and it was driveable, Just !.

  2. Having searched  for some time for the headliner bars which hold the headlining fabric in place I eventually gave up and looked at an alternative. I did find some originals but they were very expensive and although galvanised steel, very tatty. Anyway my trimmer came up with an alternative option, classic 60's Mini's use a similar design in there headlining. Very cheap, made in stainless steel with hard plastic ends, very available s/hand or new. The minis have seven rods in there headlining and they all differ in length a little so you need to try which ones fit your hardtop.

A great substitute for anyone else who requires them, hope this helps. Mike

  3. Hi Roy, I used Howells for rechroming at full set of bumpers and overrides about 12 years ago on my TR4a. The quality of there work was very good at the time and from memory without digging out my receipts I think I paid £840 total inclusive of VAT. They also undertook repairing and replating rear lights, front side light/indicators, and wire wheel spinners. They all still look very good. Mike

  4. I have a pair of 45 DCOE Carbs on TWM Manifolds of my TR4 for sale if anyone is interested. Vgc £750. Sorry I've put it in wrong section, I'm sure someone can move them into the For Sale section. Mike

  5. EP SERVICES Wolverhampton. Offers a reconditioning service on your old pump. Excellent personal service backed up with lifetime guarantee. Good price, better than new repro pumps you can buy. Sorry have no phone number for the company but google and you will find contact details.

  6. Unable to post this in the for sale section due to my incompetence. This is a TR2/3 3syncro gearbox which has the remote in place with a dipstick attached for checking oil level. Working order, no known wear £120, collection only. Worc's

  7. I normally run some w'screen sealant in after I've fitted the screen and rubber to the car. The rubber is a good song fit and it took two of us an hour to string it in. Never fitted one with the finisher in the rubber before but doubtful we would of got it in as it was very tight.

  8. Just fitted mine this afternoon using a new screen seal from Moss and the old trim from the previous screen which was in good condition.  Two pairs of hands a piece of cord, patience and hey presto it's in.  The hardest part is fitting the trim and finisher, my thumbs are still in recovery.

  9. Many thanks for your comments and help, as mentioned by Elclem1 most of the secondhand wings are usually rotted out in the same area as mine. The wing I have fitted had a previous repair some 20 years ago and was showing signs of going again due to me using the car all year around including in bad weather. Now I have removed the wing it isn't actually to bad and is easily repairable. The rest of the wing is perfect and is an original stanpart fitted by myself and the previous owner some 40 years ago. Thanks again everyone for your help. Mike

  10. Can anyone tell me if there is a repair panel available for the bottom  of the rear wing, the section where it attaches to the sill/ B'post. I notice Rimmers offer one which appears to be just the section which wraps under the sill, mine needs to be a few inches longer which takes it part of the wheel arch. I'm sure this section could be repaired but difficult and time consuming to do. Thanks in advance for anybody's help. Mike

  11. Hopefully the car was purchased by an enthusiastic owner who is going to use the car and we will have the pleasure of seeing it out and about at various events around the country rather than been tucked away as an investment. I've only ever seen LHP 288F once and it just happened tobe on the forecourt of my local garage with the mechanic scratching his head trying to sort the fuel injection out because it wouldn't run properly. At the time it was owned by David Bishop, this would have been some 10 years ago I guess and I took the opportunity to take a photo of it with LHP 294F. Look forward to learning who the new owner is.

  12. I take my garden rubbish to the tip myself, but I'm sure my annoying neighbours who have bonfires on lovely warm evening when i'm sitting in the garden having a glass of beer looking at my TR I've  just spent the afternoon cleaning is been covered in a light dusting of floating ash and my house is filled with smoke through open windows would be able to give you some tips on how to light your bonfire and also repeat the advice I give them as to how to put it out.

  13. Just received this very sad news. I'm so shocked thinking he will not be around after becoming such a good friend for a number of years with his support and encouragement through my racing career and always took time to have a good chat at the many TR club events where we met up. A true TR enthusiast who cannot be replaced. R.I.P Alan you will be greatly missed.

  14. This cage is surplus to my requirements as I've sold my TR3a. It was supplied by Racestorations and is a full rally spec cage which fits neatly under a hardtop or soft top. Its has the rear diagonal and door bars with all the necessary nuts and bolts and fits direct to the sill/floor chassis mounts. £500 if you are interested and please PM me if you require further info/spec/photo's. Mike
