Hi Steve
What has thrown me is that the pink white dives into the loom straight from the switch and does not re appear anywhere in the under dash area to pick up from, my prodding around with a continuity meter showed it as you describe.
Many thanks

Hi Guys
I have an August 74 build RHD 6 with original wiring loom installed, the ignition switch is willmot breedon on the column steering lock type. there are 4 fixed connections to the switch assembly each pre wired with flying leads that connect to to matching colour coded bullet connectors on the loom. I say this as reading the Brown Bible it seems to indicate the switch should have lucar connectors and mine does not.
I can not find a wiring or connection diagram anywhere that shows this detail, the 4 wires are Brown, White, Red/White and Pink/white I am tempted to break into the pink/white for a switched feed to car radio, does anyone know if this is correct or have a better idea than I do?
I have traced the switch operation with a test meter and believe that the brown is power on and that the pink white makes when switch is in position one only.
Hope this question makes some sense

Thanks Velo, glad sorted.
The last time I advertised something on ebay, I vowed it would be the last it was a guitar, it was clearly red and my headline was "Fender Strat in Fireburst red" So imagine my surprise when I received a message " what colour is this guitar ? but even more amazement when I received a 2nd a few days later despite 10 very clear high quality pictures !!!

Ebay is a breeding ground for odd people, has any one asked yet what colour the car is ?

Thank you everyone, I have decided to not fit hazards, simply because I just don't use them, or have not done. Maybe next winter when I re-firb the instruments will be the time.

If the stainless was the same thickness as the OEM the stainless would be stronger, but it probably is fag paper thick so is not so

Hi Austin
I thought long and hard and came to the conclusion that I have never used hazards in UK so have decided not to install, so just complete the cable ends and back on the road, brum brum !!!

Yes TR6's have been under valued judged on any basis in my opinion, is it due to availability of US imports that is holding back UK 6's ?

Thank you jerry, that's great I am all stripped out under the dash and in the process of binding to the loom supplementary wiring for aux lamps rear fogs etc so it will be a doddle.
Thanks again

Hi Guys
I am in the final stages of refitting my August 74 UK TR6 and just thought about adding hazard lights. I searched on the forum and see that it has been mentioned that wiring and connectors was already installed on this year, if so what do I need to complete a hazards installation, I presume a suitable switch but do I need any additional relays or will the flasher unit handle ?
I would appreciate some input please
thanks in advance

I have been tracing these very wires this afternoon, there is a pair that eminates from the main loom as it disapears behind the heater box, just to the left of the box, colour as the wd.I am repositioning my interior light switch so had to find them. Hope this helps.

Hi Team
I am still working around the dash area of my 6 and having taken out the heater for an inspection as a routine operation, I am looking now at installing extra wiring all bound up to the loom prior to commencing a final re fit.
I have considered several logic arrangements but have finalised as below.
I would welcome any diagrams that anyone has that will enable me to switch via one switch an extra set of fogs that come on with side lights or dipped beam via a relay, and then extinguish and spots come on with main beam, this must all be via one single extra switch but with as many relays as required as I am going to fit relay box and multi way blade fuses as my next project, but just want to get the wrires installed now through from under dash to engine bay.
Hope someone can assist

I already have a switch plinth with 5 holes, so that part is a dodle. I can make any loom mods that are needed, so it is just the mechanics of the steering lock to consider and I can not see any problem as such, just leave it of ?
I was going to fit a 12v outlet in the cenre hole but now need am ignition switch.
Thanks

Hi Guys
I have a late TR6 with column starter/lock. this has always been a pain to get at and keys dangling between legs etc. Is there any reason that I cant use an earlier centre console ignition stater switch in place. yes I know there are mechanical considerations such as 5 holes needed not 4 but electircally can it be done ??
cheers

I have in the past concerned myself with restricted fuel delivery under demand from Bosch pumps, I beleive that none of them REALY do the job in terms of fuel supply under maximum load demand, well that was my experience after consulting with a Bosch centre many years ago.
Hazzard Lights wiring etc

In fact a bar full of amber revolving lights would do the same job as a hazard flasher, look good to...............NOT
I am very concerned about the standard lighting on a 6 in todays traffic and as I often travel on the French Autoroutes I have learned that one must be seen !!
Thanks
