Congratulations, Denis, you've looked after her beautifully.
The price you paid is interesting - I got married in July 1972 and your car cost 25% of the price of my first house!

Before I changed my wheels back to pepper pots, I used to clean my Wolfraces with Solvol Autosol - but I agree it is really hard work!
Good luck with them,
Best wishes,

Hi, Andy,
Might get a better response if you post in the TR6 forum.
Good luck,
John

Roger - yes, you are right again. Lead resistance will be higher if suppressors are fitted.

I think HT leads with over 1 ohm resistance are suspect, so they're certainly worth a try, as it's easy!
-
The resistance I've quoted is for the primary LT windings.

Hi, Robin,
No doubt I'm missing something, but isn't the coil resistance rather high?
My understanding is that non-ballasted coils have 3 - 3.5 ohms resistance, while ballasted ones are 1.3 - 1.5 ohms. Could that be the problem?
Good luck sorting it out.

Steve,
When I put my Wolfies up for sale in the Classified section of the club website, there was a delay in them appearing because the office have to manually insert the ad, I was told.
Maybe that's what is happening to you, the office could confirm.

Good to be able to add another reliable supplier to my library - thanks, Alec.

Don't know the figures, I'm afraid, but I recall we used to compare the weight of a rad with a new one when judging how much crud there might be in there.
Just thought it might be easier to find out the weight of a new rad rather than the capacity?
Good luck,
John

Hi, Guy,
Don't know if this company are any good, but I see that Hobbyweld have a distributor in Jersey - Tools Plus Limited, email is toolsplus@jerseymail.co.uk.
I understand they supply Argon mixtures, but in cylinders with no rental charge.
Good luck,
John

Hi, Roy,
Welcome to the club.
Number 1 is at the front, nearest to the radiator.
Good luck with the car, loads of help and info on here.

Hi, Roger,
No personal experience, I'm afraid, but Peter Burgess, who I believe has a very good reputation with other forum users, does have a view on his website -

Hi, Steve,
That's my next job, good to see how well your small gauges have come up and how quickly you managed the work.
Will be interested to see what you have to do to restore the dash, condition looks similar to mine.
Kind regards,
John

Hi, Stephen,
Suggest you repost in the TR6 forum, more likely to get a response from there.
Kind regards,

Hi, Stuart,
Many thanks for your advice. As you say, I might well be opening a can of worms, so I'll ponder on it for a while!
Thanks again,
Best wishes,

The PO of my TR6 has unfortunately (for me!) fitted all the panels before painting the entire body, and the seams are now starting to crack.
Has anyone any experience of remedying this situation without removing all the panels again and doing the job properly, or am I just clutching at straws?
Thanks for any advice,
John

As a fully paid-up pedant, I did enjoy reading a book by Lynne Truss entitled "Eats, Shoots and Leaves", which includes some entertaining examples of misunderstandings caused by incorrect punctuation.
