Hi,
I know that mx5 seats can be fitted to a tr4a.But I wondered if the seats from an RX7 would fit.
Can anyone post the dimensions of mx5 seats as I have been offered RX7 seats and don't want to be left with useless seats taking up room in my garage.
Cheers Rob.

Hi all,
After fitting new floor ,self tapped new inner and outer sill in position I'm stuck as to what is the correct position for new b post. What gap should there be between the door and b post should it be the same as the gap at bottom of door?I notice from the passenger side that the b post sits back at a slight angle from the leading edge of the inner rear wing panel but when I offer up new b post at an angle the bottom lip pulls out from outer sill pressing. Any info on this or explanation on this please or even better some photos of these panels on situ.

Hi all,
I wondered if anyone had considered
using expanding foam in hollow structures
of chassis,sills etc.
Having used this is the building
trade I wondered if it would help minimise
damp conditions in these areas and add
some strength.
Any thoughts?

Sorry terry I forgot to mention I've only got the wheels and the splines on these look pretty good.
My concern was if I bought hubs that would have a totally different width/length of groove or are they all the same?.
Cheers Rob

Hi all,
Just acquired a set second hand wires for my tr.Are all the hubs a universal fit for the splines
or do they have to be matched?.I haven't looked too closely to see if there are any numbers
etc. Please advise.

Hi guys,
Thanks for all the advice. The reason I am checking is because my car needs all the normal body repairs that a resto project requires eg cills ,inner and outer wings front and rear b post and a post and also complete rear deck. And the situation with the shape of the wing makes itself prevalent when all the associated parts that correspond to the outer wing ie rear deck forward, centre and rear panels.I can only guess that because these panels are just provisionally clamped in place that they are not in correct position. So I will assume the shape of outer wing to be a guide for these and take it from there.I'll post again with my progress or otherwise.
Cheers lads all the best Rob.

Hi all,
Should the rear wing for a 4a be totally straight across the top edge where the wing bead fits
The ones I have are curved slightly and don't follow the shape of inner wing please advise.

Hi all,
Advice required as to best method of preparing panels in resto.As. I am doing a lot of panel repair and replacement is there a more cost effective way to prime panels I.e spray on etch primers etc as opposed to aerosol cans ind if so what's the best to use etc.also closed off panels such as cills and b posts to what extent are these painted are they just etc primed or are they finished with anything else?and are the meeting faces coated in a seam sealer prior to welding ? Any advice welcome.

I'm currently restoring my '67 tr4a.Iwould like to fit an overdrive gearbox and I believe it is possible to use parts from other triumph cars to make this possible as an alternative to trying to get an A type overdrive as they are pretty rare and also quite pricey. What are the possible alternative options and are these "parts bin "overdrive set ups any good or reliable.
Look forward to your advice.
Cheers Rob..

When I bought the car the left hand side was missing both wings and door but the driver side was missing just the rear wing.although the gap between driver side front wing and door looks ok the gap at the bottom of the door is bigger at the rear. The reason I suspect hogging is that the chassis is visible at the rear valance by about 10 mm.Does this mean hogging or not?

Just noticed after reading restoration manual that my tr4a 1967 is hogging.whats the best way to remedy?
