Has his mother disowned him?

It depends on your perspective, but on the basis of my Grinnall, a V8 conversion has a lot to offer.
Whatever you choose, I hope it all goes well.

No but we do need Nigel Farage as the new chairman of the BBC.

Am I right in thinking he is now available having been sacked by LBC?
Or maybe he should replace DC, who after all has become a bit of a liability.
Probably on an interim basis until Angela becomes available.

We should not judge those in the past by our standards and morals. By all means take these things in context.
Slavery wasn’t something the cotton and sugar trade invented but it was part of our written history.
The Egyptians, Roman and Greek civilisations did it. The vikings did it. The Nazis did it.
Learn from history don’t destroy the distasteful evidence.
Many of these statues were erected and still are presented in a way that does not recognise any distasteful evidence whatsoever.
I would personally favour that they are moved to museums where they can be placed together with their full context with the distateful evidence. However, this should be done on the basis of the relevant community deciding that it is appropriate considering the balance of the inidividual's good works against their darker side. On that basis only a tiny minority would want Winston Churchill's statue moved. A larger minority might want Baden Powell's statue moved, but I would not expect a majority.

Following on the Nicola Sturgeon thread.
With Angela Merkel standing down as German chancellor next year, would it be a good idea to sack Dominic Cummings and ask her to take on the job of telling Boris Johnson how to run the country?

Also a bit off topic but it does relate to a moment of US black history

Pop-up problems are a well trodden path. In the first instance check and clean connections in the engine bay behind the lights, dead easy but if both lights are affected this is less likely. Search here and on other TR7/8 forums if that doesn't work.

Are we getting the views of BME TRR members?

Not me. Another broken promise.

Media does character assassination of everyone in power, even those long dead. The spirit of Joe McCarthy lives on.
It is all just so irrelevant to Coronavirus, its treatment and prevention.
Alan
As you state your post above has nothing to do with the topic. I suggest you start a new thread.

I believe that BBC are still out there trying to manipulate public opinion to get Brexit reversed
What's in it for the BBC?

The Big Healey 57ARX was winner of the 1962 Alpine Rally.

I've not seen any problem about using the Grinnall TR8 instead of the Honda FRV for shopping trips.

Back in the sixties when I was a RR apprentice, and for all I know since, the Crewe and Harpur at Swarkestone was known as the Screw and Scarper.

That was very informative. These guys should do this every couple of weeks.
They're doing one tomorrow:
The second Cambridge Conversations webinar will feature Professor Sir David Spiegelhalter, one of the world’s foremost biostatisticians, who will unpick the numbers surrounding COVID-19. He will explore the reporting of cases and deaths, explain the bases on which predictions have been made, examine comparisons with the ‘normal’ risks faced by people, and investigate whether many deaths from COVID-19 could have been expected and have simply been brought forward.
He will be joined by Professor Mike Hulme, whose expertise is in climate change, with particular interest in the role of model-based knowledge in strategic and policy decision-making relative to political and cultural values: a question of similar importance for COVID-19.
Dr Alexandra Freeman will introduce the panel and moderate the event. Together, they will provide profound analysis as an antidote to the speculation rife in social media.

Some interesting stuff

Source: Sheer speculation partly based on my experience of
1) providing expert advice to state sector clients who are rather boxed in;
2) Yes Minister
I have no problem accepting the election result and don't vote Labour.

The previous position and statement were provided by our best medical minds and acted upon by the government, if the scientific thought process changes or the medical advice provided changes I expect the government to take notice of it and change their minds. ...What do you do ?

My personal view is that there was a conversation in early March along the lines:
Scientific advisor: My report suggests that the public using masks when out and about could be useful.
Politician: I note your view. However we don't have enough masks for the NHS frontline staff let alone Joe public. So publishing this recommendation at this time is not helpful, because it cannot be implemented. We will come back to this when circumstances permit.
But maybe Yes Minister was entirely fictional.

Boris and his pals are now playing catchup on the masks.
