7/16" is the proper measurement with H6 carbs. The HS6 carbs used on TR4A are set to 1/8" to 3/16".

Robin-There are instructions in the Moss catalog (at least the US version) in the gauge/switch section for wiring the replacement wiper switch. My lucas replacement switch from TRF has 5 terminals. Looking the back of the switch the top left -green, bot. left-red/light green, top right-blue/light green, bot. right-brown/light green. This makes the top position off, middlle low speed, and bottom high speed. Hope this doesn't muddy the waters.

Roger-There are many visual differences between the H6&HS6 carbs. HS (which stands for horozontal short body) is over an inch shorter, measured flange to flange. Also, the float chamber lid on the hs carbs have 3 screws and use a plastic float, whereas h6 carbs have 1 large central cap screw and uses a cylinder shaped brass float. The dimension for setting the float level is defintely different for the 2 style of carbs7/16" for h6, 1/8"-3/16" for hs6. I am sure that others can confirm this dimension. The fuel level should be approx 1/8" from the top of the jet.
