  1. Yes, UYM 6 is an important and interesting TR , for which I managed, after an appeal to the DVLA, to recover the original registration ....however, "Eligible for the Goodwood Revival" is an interesting concept......As far as I know, there are no such eligibility criteria....an invitation simply seems to depend on-- Who you are, whether you "fit in" and only partly on the car itself, and as the whole Revival concept is really Lord March letting a group of like minded friends play motors for a few days in his back garden, who are we to dictate to him who or what cars he should invite to his pad?

Clearly however, not many of his friends have TRs, the Ottos excepted.....I'm a founder member of the GRRC from back in 1998, and I love the Revival, having attended every day of every one there has been....I'll be there in my tweeds next month, but I bet there won't be any TRs racing on the track......You see, gentlemen have Bristols, chaps have Austin Healeys and serfs have TRs......Now you try explaining that nuance of the English class system to Johnny Foreigner.....Bill P.

  2. Yes, it has indeed been done...John Warfield, President of the Triumph Register of America, who is disabled, had a Borg Warner auto box fitted to his Concours red 3A many years ago....I drove it in 1995 when visiting him in Annapolis, and a very neat and effective conversion it was, enabling John to use a sidescreen car he would otherwise have been unable to drive.....there are also a number of auto fitted TR6s in the USA....Bill Piggott

  3. Dave, the reg no shown in the photos is, I think,a Birmingham trade plate used while it was a development car....when the car was eventually sold off, I think it went to Byatt's of Stoke on Trent and hence was registered in 1965 with a Stoke reg no of AVT 413 C ...the chassis no was X660 in the Triumph prototype register...I mention this in my 1995 "Triumph By Name" book...as to its fate, I concur with what Alec has said...BP
