This is John ("Senior apprentice" and Jowett mechanic) removing the front wings, revealing much rot and the reason, the short drain pipe out of the plenum chamber. What ever were they thinking about at the factory ? When I look at how this car was put together, It is easy to see why they all rot out so quick. When I was an apprentice, all I saw was a brilliant sports car, not that I could ever afford one. When I left school in 1975, this car was already 5 years old, and my rate was £10 per week !

Removing the front wings revealed a lot of rot (as expected) and the answers to a couple of questions relating to the fitting of new panels. Here we see the bottom of the near side "A" post
