MG & TRIUMPH SPARES DAY STONELEIGH FEBRUARY 2017
Linda & myself had a family funeral to attend in Oxford on 20th February, so we'd elected to travel down in a leisurely fashion on Sunday 19th, calling at Stratford Upon Avon and other places on the way.
Whilst heading towards Stratford Linda spotted an AA road sign saying MG & Triumph Spares Day turn next right.
After thinking about it for all of 20 seconds we took the turn, and a few miles later saw us parking up at Stoneleigh Agri Ground and walking into the site. I'd seen magazine articles for the Show over the previous weeks and if I'd put 2 & 2 together I might have got 4, but I didn't. So it was an impromptu visit.
We walked in around lunchtime, and whilst a few people were already leaving, there were still loads of people there.
It was in 3 Halls, and the usual suspects of new parts retailers were there selling the new shiny stuff, in and amongst other 'dealers' selling the not so new and shiny, in fact down right old rusty and crusty almost see through parts. But no doubt gold to some people.
As you'd expect from MG v Triumph ownership numbers, it was probably 60 / 40 leaning towards MG. But no matter it was still interesting and I managed to talk to a few people about advice for my 4A restoration.
So a worthwhile detour and we still made Stratford.
