South Glamorgan Group

11 members travelled to Pembroke for the Pembrokeshire County Car run including a Stag, TR4,TR5,TR6 and a couple of modern vehicles that I won’t list J .We travelled to Pembroke the previous day and all stayed at a very pleasant b+b. This was an extremely well attended event with several hundred cars attending of all makes and ages. The start point was at Haverford West airfield where we were lined up in rows ready for groups to be lead out. This allowed for an inspection of a real mix of very well presented vehicles. The sun was glorious and was very welcome after the earlier forecast of rain. The route was through the picturesque country side with beautiful views along the way. The local community were camped out in their front gardens cheering and waving at the continual stream of cars. The route culminated at the Dyfed Shire Horse farm where refreshments were available along with some time to wander among the other cars. We made our way home the following day with some very challenging roads that required a lot of gear work resulting in very tired legs at the end of the day. A pit stop on the top of the black mountains was very welcome for an ice-cream on what had turned out to be a scorcher of a day. Let’s hope our next run has the same weather. The TR trip was thoroughly enjoyed by all members of our group, old and new alike, with thankfully previous few mechanical issues.
