KVG & TR Register enjoy a great weekend at CARFest South

The TR Register after attending CARFest North supported CARFest South over the Bank Holiday weekend, the club gazebo was in place for shelter and a base and our banners flagged our presence right by the Paddock and Drivers lounge where all the track cars were parked and prepared, and the driver’s briefings, some well-known and some celebrity owners were there such as James Martin and of course Chris Evans. a great display of TR Register members cars being 2 x TR3, 2 x TR6, a TR7 FHC & 2 x Grinnall Rounded style (interesting fact, the oldest TR on display one of the TR3’s was owned by one of the youngest members from our Youth Group) over the weekend was put on for the admiring public who showed great interest in the TR’s.

The weather unlike CARFest North was hot and sunny and the crowds were much larger, the interest shown was terrific with 3 boxes of past issues TR Actions easily distributed over the weekend, the evening live concerts were excellent as usual, Kaiser Chiefs, Paloma Faith, Rag & Bone Man, Ellie Redden, Sophie Ellis-Bexter, Steps, Seasick Steve, Faithless Soundstream, Natalie Imbruglia, James Blunt, Tom Walker, CARFest Super Group headed by The Feeling and many more, so you missed a real treat if you didn’t go along.

During the daytime, interviews with guests very interesting, such as Adrian Newey, Jody Scheckter, Rob Brydon, James Martin very engaged and approachable with visitors, the whole festival had a very Friendly atmosphere, and there were very helpful Marshalls/Support staff all day through. Sadly, CARFest North will not happen next year, but the TR Register be at CARFest South, so if you want to go along, let me know as soon as possible, next years dates are the 25th – 27th August at Laverstoke Farm, Overton, Hampshire.
