Kennet Valley TR Group brave the storms for Shalbourne

3 Kennet Valley TR Group members endured the late September storms to visit this super 'end of season' Classic show. Stewart & Christine Highnett in their recently restored TR6 in Toyota Metallic red and Ian & Maureen Howatt in their TR4 and Phil Horsley in his Rounded Style Grinnall enjoyed a walk around the show and the inevitable picnic in the car for lunch. There were also 4 other local TR's in attendance, a black TR3, two red TR4A and a white TR6.

The showground overlooking the beautiful Wiltshire downs, always attracts some wonderful Classic variants and even though Mother Nature attempted to spoil the show, 40 plus cars turned up to entertain the visitors.

Everything from a Ford Model T to a Dodge Viper were in the line up, one interesting car with a tenuous link to TR's was this Fiat Bertone, part of the Fiat X19 range which was suggested to be a copy of the TR7, certainly is was the same era

Certainly the weather didn't deter the Public either and there was a band playing to give cheer, plus food and of course tea and cakes, which certainly went down well. Hopefully the weather will be better next year so watch out for the date to pop in your diary.
