Kennet Valley TR Group members enjoy a day at Westgreen House Classic show
KVG members enjoyed a 'rare' sunny day in September to attend the classic car show at Westgreen House.
So much more than a Classic Car Show, the West Green House Classic Car Day welcomes car enthusiasts and their families to marvel at wonderful vehicles.
The weather was kind and the gardens were resplendent! Great show, about 100 cars on display this is the second year that the show has taken place, plenty of space and all Exhibitors are free to arrive and leave when they please. Good little cafe sited within the car display area with coffee, cake, bacon rolls etc. (There was also some very smart Port-a loos.)
Live music over lunch time, very interesting mix of cars from a 1937 Rolls Royce Phantom V12 to 2011 Jaguar XK Supercharged V8, only one large club stand present - Thames Valley Morgan Club. Best in Show by the Judges was won by a Ford Model A and by the public by a E Type Jaguar.
Free entry to the house's extensive gardens was available for all Exhibitors. In the gardens there was an interesting courtyard cafe and garden shop. "We had a great day at the show and would certainly recommend making it a "mid-monthly meeting" next year." Elaine & Jamie.
Everyone enjoyed the day and there were some quite special cars on display
Entry was through the private tree lined drive and park in front of the House, and some enjoyed teas and lunch in Tea Room, or indulge in a delicious Traditional Afternoon Tea with all the trimmings. Thanks to Val & Denis Carter, Elaine & Jamie Kind for the pictures and update of the event, Val commented that they had a nice day and it was certainly worth a visit...beautiful area and garden...of course we were very lucky with weather, put it in your calendar for next year?
