Prize won despite low turnout due to weather at Thatcham Rotary Classic car show & fun day

Kennet Valley TR Group again supported Thatcham Rotary Classic Car show & fun day for their June mid monthly meeting. Despite the low turnout of all classic cars, a Kennet Valley member won the 'Highly Commended' car of the show rosette.

This coveted rosette was won last year by our most unassuming and modest member Graham Robertshaw with his lovely TR4. This year the rosette was won by Phil Horsley's TR250 so pride was retained.

Christine & Stewart Highnett attended in their red TR6 and Audrey & Peter Heywood (currently without a TR) came in their Ford Focus.

There were all the usual fun day stall and event plus a great variety of classic and modern classic car to view so plenty to see and do.

Full credit also has to go to the ground people of Henwick playing field where the event was held, for their superb maintenance and drainage which meant no muddy tracks or stuck cars on the day despite all the rain over the paste days, maybe Glastonbury should employ them?
