We have still not decided on a permanent venue for our monthly meetings our AGM on the 2nd of March is at Pincents Manor hotel in April we go back to the Holiday Inn for a vote on where to end up.
January saw a group of us off to the Best Western Hotel at Wroxton near Banbury to celebrate the New Year; We werejust thinking of getting ready for dinner when the Village had a power cut .as luck would have it power was restored in time for dinner. The week end was so successful we have decided to return for a third Year in 2017.
Our February mid monthly was a visit to Brooklands
Six Trs in all. Four cars set off from the Holiday Inn, Padworth at circa 07:00 and joined up with the other three on route.
A nice quiet run mainly off motorway got us to Brooklands at 08:10, the entry fee included a full English and a cuppa so that's where KVG'ers headed first. Then spent a great time looking at many lovely examples of classic cars that had attended, At 11:00, off to a briefing to be able to take our TR's up the test hill and enjoy driving them along part of the historic banked racing circuit, albeit at a much slower pace than those classic racers. With time left to see the many other attractions and museums on site, some lunch and head home!
Lots to see and do at Brooklands, a thoroughly enjoyable visit, do go if you get chance?
For our March mid monthly on the 20th we are meeting Glavon at Swindon for and indoor golf Tournament with lunch to follow should be a lot of fun and hopefully a win for KVG this year.
At the end of the month there is a car show at Newbury show ground on Easter Monday this replaces the show that was held at Wyke down each year.
The 6th of April meeting at the Holiday Inn we have a talk by Hywel Lloyd ,Bicycles to TR sports cars, Later in April we are off to the Bicester Heritage Centre for Drive it Day s
