Spring Vehicle Meeting, Newbury despite storm Katie attempts to spoil it!

Despite the attempts of storm Katie and the BBC Weather not being clear about the timing of the storm, the Spring Vehicle Meeting went ahead

With the storm Katie still in our midst at 8:00 am, both Stewart Highnett and Dave Rumens 'did a wreckie' to Newbury Showground and reported 'no one on the gate' and 'only a small handful of vehicles, mainly old Land Rovers on site'. Also having many announcing they were pulling out, we decided to hang back and see how the weather progressed.

Mike Field did another 'wreckie' just after 9:15 am, there were a few cars, someone on the gate, and although very soft underfoot, but they had decided to go ahead. It did clear later but the ground was muddy underfoot, and was still very windy.

So we had 5 cars in total, 3 TR's and 2 Stag's. The weather kept probably 75% of prospective visitors and exhibitors away, so a very depleted show - but at least KVG supported it, lets hope for better weather next year.
