East Riding Group - Dave & Barbera's Drive it Day Run - April 2024
Sunday the 21st of April was national classic and vintage car drive it day. Dave and Barbara Bilton organised a run to the Trolly bus museum at Sandtoft. Fortunately, the weather was kind to us on that day. The run, which included 7 cars went from the Humber Bridge car park to Sandtoft taking the scenic route.
The museum holds the world's largest collection of trolly buses; a prefab furnished in the 1940’s style and a film show in a small cinema. We had the added bonus of a bus trip around the local villages (The Isle of Axholme Tour) with a running commentary from a right character called Steve posing as a bus conductor and a trip in one of the trolly buses. After a cup of tea and a bacon butty we followed the same route back to end a great day out.
