TR Action 305

TR Action 305

Well, it's been a relatively quiet start to the year. We've enjoyed a couple of our evening meetings at Woodland and Willand where new member to Devon, Martin Hill, came along to say hello, so welcome Martin. We enjoyed the first of our Sunday get-togethers at The Elizabethan in February having met first at Hannahs for coffee and a good catch up. The weather was brightening up and there were a few TRs in the car park, notably from the North Devon area, so well done to you! Then the weather and the so called 'beast from the east' played a bigger part with our planned meeting at the London Inn, Morchard Bishop was cancelled due to the expected snow and just as well as we did have plenty of it!

The next event on our calendar was 'Make the most of Drive it Day' on 22 April and so has probably just happened. Derek our Regional Director has worked really hard to encourage as many as possible of our Southern area Groups to meet up at Haynes Museum. For Devon members, I added a couple of optional stages to the day, with the chance to go to Barrington Court in the afternoon and to stop off on our way back home for an early dinner at The Monkton Court Hotel too. I hope that the sun was shining but either way, I'm sure we had a good drive out.

I continue to add events and details to our programme of events, which can be downloaded from our TR Register Devon pages. I now have registration forms for the Killerton Show as well as the Trains & Triumphs meeting at the South Devon Railway at Buckfastleigh and you should have seen these mentioned in various messages from me already.I'm also gathering names of those planning to attend Powderham in July as I shall be ordering the entry wristbands beforehand, again, please look out for information and I'll be mentioning these at our evening meetings. So, it does look like we will be getting busier any time soon.

I'm also pleased to report that our next In the Garage newsletter is taking shape and should be with by now.

As always, if you're not getting the information from me that I have mentioned above, then I probably don't have your correct email address, so please do contact me so that I can put this right.

Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you and seeing you soon. Alan
