Greetings Cumbria Group,
Newsletter 2/24.
Well 2024 is off with a cracker thanks to Peter and Nan, great day with a great lunch
venue and tour of The Southern lakes.
All this and I forgot to do a raffle - only Anita remembered, I’ll need to do better
folks!
Next run, Sunday April 7 th , is our half day run to afternoon tea, at The Craggs at
Bothel, postcode ;- CA7 2JN. Tea is booked for 2.30PM, and cost is £16.50 per head.
I need to let them have provisional numbers, so can you confirm to me please by
Wednesday 3 rd . Haven’t sorted the run out yet but it will be a very social lunchtimeish
start from likely Morrisons Kendal, or of course you can head directly for The Craggs
for 2.30 but I’ll still need numbers by the Wednesday.
Just a couple of weeks later, Monday April 22 nd , and we are off to our adventure stay
at Fort William. I have the following making the trip this year;-
Steve and Ros Jim and Joyce
Mark and Ann Alan and Catherine
John and Doreen Mark and Anita
Ken and Mark Powley
Have I missed anybody out? Get back to me A.S.A.P. is so, and I’ll then start to look
at food choices.
N.B;- Though not in our programme, this years Drive-it-Day is April 21 st . usually a
few of us roll up to Dalemain late morning, have a wander, and then depending on
who
is present sort out an afternoon run – just so you all know.
The other item in our programme I need to finalise now are those coming to
Bellingham, for our two night stay at The Riverdale Hall Hotel, Sunday August 4 th to
Tuesday Aug 6 th . Cost to us at a special rate is £94.00 per person per night.
So far I have;-
Jim and Joyce Anne and Jim (Dog friendly room)
Steve and Ros Peter and Nan
Alan and Catherine John and Doreen
Rex
It is still not to late to come along, just let me know, and as you will see dog friendly
rooms are available.
So, Afternoon Tea, I need to know by April 3 rd Please, and anyone else either for Fort
William or Bellingham soon!
Finally, some local info, for you all;- Peter Bonsall has recently had all the windows
in his TR6 hood replaced locally by, ;- Goacher Sails, Bowness.
They have a website, and Peter tells me they were lovely folk to deal with, and that he
is very pleased with the result. Peter received the ‘heads up’ from Hugh Gray - local
networking at its very best I’d say!
Cheers,
John.
