Chiltern TR Group - News 01 April 2024

Dear Friends

Our next meeting is this coming Wednesday evening at The Peacock in Henton, OX39 4AH. Do come and join us if you can, you will be most welcome.

April already !

A number of events will be soon upon us and bookings or commitments need to be made.

The first is Sunday 21^st April, which is “Drive it Day”. This is the annual celebration to raise awareness and support amongst the public for the historic vehicle movement and keeping transport heritage on UK roads. Held on the nearest Sunday to St George’s Day, it tends to mark the beginning of the classic car season and a reason, should any be necessary, to dust off the car and use it. The Chiltern TR Group have planned a run out to visit The Shuttleworth Collection located 2 miles west of the A1 at Biggleswade, SG18 9DT.

There will be plenty to see such as vintage aircraft collection, Shuttleworth House, Swiss Garden, the Lakeside Park and the Runway Café for morning coffees and lunch. It’s about 1¹/₂ hour drive.

We have to make a group booking and need to know if you will be with us. Please let either Aidan of myself know, if you haven’t done so already.

A new event that is still some way of but, again, we need to know numbers now. This is the Chiltern TRs Mid-Summer BBQ at Views Farm near Great Milton, OX44 7NW, on Wednesday evening 19^th June from 1630 onwards. Although this is mid-week, it will be light until very late (26^th June is the longest day). We need to know if you will be with us. Please let either Aidan of myself know, if you haven’t done so already.
