Richard Crawley Posted September 10, 2006 Report Share Posted September 10, 2006 (edited) Have you checked the timing & that the distributor advance is working properly? Spitting back can also indicate too weak a mixture, most common cause is an air leak on the induction system somewhere. Has the car always done it or has it just developed? This can also be cause by incorrect valve timing if the car has been fitted with a non-standard cam or fitting a cam with a wild profile without changing the timing advance characteristics & fuel settings.
