maddog
I have to re-torque the heads on the V8, but how do you get onto the out side bolts? I have the head type with the 9 bolts on the outside and a 4 branch manifolds fitted but do you have to remove the manifolds to get at the bolts or is there a quick fix Thanks Andy
Cinnobar
Andy, assuming you mean the 4 lower bolts on each head then they shouldn't need retorquing. These should be at 25ft/lb MAX or left out. Mine were put in to fill the holes but went to 20ft/lb or so. Also V8 heads don't need retorquing generally, once pulled down at build then you leave them alone. That advice came from Progress Engineering formerly Rovercraft & they've been building RV8s for 35 odd years! Jim
maddog
Thanks for that. I was not looking forward to having to take the manifolds off!
