Guest TR1957
I owned a 1957 TR3 (TS 18112 LO) with AUC786 H6 carbs. I have got a problem with this car, because at any time I have some petrol flight from AUC1534 Grommet. I change systematic these grommets after only 40 miles! I think may be that grommet have some problems with un-lead petrol. Have you a solution or explanation?
jonlar
Hi TR1957, and a very warm welcome to the Forum. I can't give a definitive answer to your particular problem, but I do know on TR6 fuel pumps, petrol feed pipes, Metering Unit seals all need replacing to use with Unleaded petrol. The old, original materials get eaten/dissolved by the different constituent chemicals in modern Unleaded fuels. Maybe Revington TR can advise/supply the repacement U/L compatible seals. The old type of cotton covered rubber pipe, may appear OK from the outside, but the rubber inside may be rotten, perished or cracked and therefore a fire risk, or swollen inside, reducing flow.
