jenand40
Can anyone please give me some advice? I have just bought a Microscan central locking kit for my TR8, but cannot see how to fit the door actuators! I am sure that someone must have carried out this mod before. Any advice would be much appreciated.
Steve
Hi I think you need to get some Discovery handles, these have the plates and cams for the micro switches. They are all black as well, so they look better than TR7 ones. This link might help http://www.team.net/TR8/mp/html/ezine.html
Cinnobar
If you mean fitting the actuators themselves then its a question of mounting the actuator in the door panel as close to and with its working axis in parellel to the door button on top. Then the linkage connects to the vertical rod that is the lift button. On mine I have no external door buttons and rely on the actuator. They were easy to screw to the frame and a complete pig to get working reliably. I suspect some of the throw of the actuator is lost in the slightly worn door lock. Leave the door panels off until you're 110% confident they are OK. Jim
