Guest GrahamGooner
Hello, This is my first post, so please be gentle... I have a '72 TR6 with a sticky throttle. I noticed it on the way back from Malvern on Sunday. There is some kind of resistance at the beginning of the peddle movement, which seems to move further up the movement each time I accelerate. So the car idles at 800rpm when I start up, then revs progressively higher, so after cruising it was idling at 2000rpm! Pushing the counter shaft back toward the block releaved the problem temporarily, but as soon as I used the peddle again the problem returned. I did notice that the counter shaft assembly bearing had completely disintergrated, so I have bought a polyurethane replacement, and new return springs. Is this likely to be the correct remedy?
