Won't go into reverse

This morning, my TR3A won't go into reverse. It has a TR4A trans with OD what was rebuilt about 1,000 miles ago. I did notice the other day that it was difficult to get out of reverse, but once things warmed up it behaved itself.

 

The shift lever moves OK and the clutch is releasing properly. If I hold the lever back, it will grind just slightly when I release the clutch. Apparently, the gears are not engaging for some reason.

 

Having paused in this writing to make sure the OD switch was off, I tried it again. After several repititions of shifting into other gears and bumping the clutch, it did shift into reverse. I also turned the OD on and off several times.

 

Any ideas of where to start looking?
