  1. In 2006 I glooped my tank, but now need to replace as can be seen from picture .I now looking for recommendations on current best tank/supplier. Car is 1962 TR4. THis may be a silly question: Aluminum is one of the metals susceptible to degradation by ethanol fuels. Where does that leave ally tanks?
  2. Has anyone converted their car to use a cable operated throttle, rather than the linkage rods? Rather than reinventing the wheel, which I could do, it would be helpful to see pictures and descriptions of how your car has been converted. Thanks David

Hi I tried to start my TR5 which had been stood for a while and found whilst the battery was allowing the Bosch fuel pump to whir when I turned the key there wasn't enough juice in the battery to start the car - no surprises there. However having removed the battery, charged it up etc I then turned the key to find that the fuel pump is silent and clearly not working so the starter motor is clicking away with no fuel coming through. I have checked the fuses, I have checked all the wires connecting to the fuel pump but can't find any obvious issues. Seems very strange when all I have done is remove and replace the battery after charging it up. Any thoughts/assistance? Thanks a lot Best Sean

    H6 Carb leak

    I have petrol leaking from the bottom of my NO 1 SU 878 H6 carb. It appears to be coming from the bottom of the bolt assembly holding dashpot next to the jet. (this is the lowest point of the carb so may originate elsewhere. The leak drips till the dashpot is empty, the engine does not need to be running. Priming the carbs by hand at the pump refills the pot which cuts off effectively when full. The bolt is tight. I think I need to replace the washers in the assembly - or do I? Can this job be done without removing carb? Any tips thought welcome! Mike
