  1. Hello All,

Thank you for supporting our efforts to promote the 'wedge' at Tatton Park and a special thank you to Bob Eccles from TR Reg (Red Rose), for bringing the Coke TR7 all the way from HQ. Despite poor weather the TR7 & TR8 special display was fantastic on all 3 days! Plenty of trophies were awarded over the weekend for the 'flying wedge's'. Now looking forward to 2013 event, back to 2 days and not a 'soggy' bank holiday weekend!!.

Also I am looking forward to IWE where I hope to see plenty of TR7's & Tr8's this year!!

    Cheers

    Stuart.

  4. Hello Kent,

It's nice to see another fixed-head under restoration, a Speke built car too, the hard tops really are thin on the ground! I really enjoy driving mine, I enter as many 'runs' as I can in the summer. I find the 2 litre engine excellent and plenty quick enough for safe classic motoring enjoyment.

The previous owner has fitted Rover SD1 brakes on the front, they are superb! As I believe the original brakes weren't very good, (maybe something to consider whilst it's in bits).

For a sports car they have a really big boot, we carry some really large comfy chairs and a wind break to the shows, we take our camp stove, a table and spare folding chairs for friends, you should see the looks we get from MGB owners! They think we have a bottomless boot!!

The TR7 is now a rare sight on any show ground and we find a lot of people want to talk about the car. They are very under rated and under valued, good luck with the rest of your restoration, keep up the good work, I would love to see the car when it's finished!!

    Cheers

    fixed-head.

  5. Hello Paul,

My 1978 TR7 FHC was there, I was in Hall 2 with a metalic plumb DHC 2 Litre and there were 2 TR8's in there too, both DHC's, Also another DHC which decided to leave sometime on the Saturday. There was a blue DHC for sale in the trade hall too. As you say though, not a huge number, maybe next year?

    Cheers fixed-head.

  6. Hello TR7 enthusiasts, The entries for our special TR7 & TR8 feature are growing steadily. The display is open to all TR7+8 owners and will be sited next to our main TR Register display. Jim Johnson (TR Reg. member) will be in charge of the display on the day, so far the entries list is like this, For Saturday:- TR7 fhc 2, TRV8 fhc 1, TR7 dhc 6, TRV8 dhc 1 Plus TR7 x2 & TRV8 x2 (body type not listed) Total for Saturday to date 14.

For Sunday:- TR7 fhc 2, TRV8 fhc 3, TR7 dhc 6, TRV8 dhc 3 Plus TR7 x4 & TRV8 x7 (body type not listed) Total for Sunday to date 25. It makes interesting reading, fixed head coupes look to be rarest!. Out of all the V8's, only one is a factory built V8! Some of the cars entered have sent photo's and the standard looks to be very high, making judging the cars a real head ache on the weekend (glad it's not me) Still looking forward to receiving more entries. I had a great time last weekend at EventCity, with my TR7 on the club stand. The TR Register stand was fantastic!! Cheers for now fixed-head.

  7. Hello all TR7 & TR 8 owners, at Tatton Park in June we are planning a special event for our, now quite rare, 'wedge' shaped sports cars. The display is open to ALL TR7/8 cars. The special area will be sited next to the TR Register Stand and close to other Triumph clubs, who have all promised to donate their TR7's & TR8's to our special enclosure! We are having trophies each day for; Best F.H.C., best D.H.C., best V8 and best modified, all the cars will be judged by the show judges on Saturday and Sunday! It's FREE to enter your car, forms available at www.cheshireautopromotions.co.uk The show has 80 club stands and 250 autojumble/trade stands! The TR7 stand is being organised by Jim Johnson (TR Reg. club member), it was his idea to bring the TR7's & TR8's back to Tatton Park. We are hoping this will become an annual event for these now increasingly rare cars. So far we have, 7 cars for Saturday and 16 cars for Sunday, at least one of the cars entered has never been to a show before! The quality of the cars entered so far is excellent! If you own one of these fantastic British Leyland sportscars, then this event is for you!! Let's try to promote the image of these lovely old sportscars before it's to late!! PLEASE ENTER YOUR TR7 CAR NOW!! THANKYOU! Also at the show, 40 TR's 2 to 6 (RED-ROSE BOYS)! CHEERS FOR NOW!! 'fixed-head' P.S. camping is available for exhibitors only! (see entry form) showers, beer tent & food til 11:00pm, disco in beer tent Sat. night! P.P.S. Lots of exhibitors camp over, it's agreat venue, beautiful parkland, deer etc. JUNE 4th & 5th 2011, TATTON PARK,well signed from Junc.19 M6 & Junc.7 M56.
