  1. 1974 TR6. JRW713N

When turning right or leaning downwards on steering wheel the horn sounds.

Car is fitted with Mota Lita steering wheel.

Boss, "pen" and horn push all in good working order.

Horn even sounds when wheel is leant on with horn push and "pen" removed.

Doesn't seem to do it when turning left >:-)

    Column bushes ok too.

    Any suggestions?

  2. SCENARIO:-

    1974 CR TR6

    Owner (me) 6ft 4ins

    Inside leg 35"

TR seats badly worn - guess that equals lower and further back than standard seating position - BUT happy driving,,,,

Disatisfaction with look and feel of worn seats - Moss Europe sale - cash burning hole in wallet.

Purchase Moss seats - thicker, frimer, wider, fuller, comfier, happier.

Seats fitted to std Triumph sub-frame using lowest fixing holes.

    PROBLEM(s):-

Newer thicker seats equals (on drivers side):

1)Higher and further forward seating position a)knees hard against bottom of crash pads B) balancing act in seat when simmultaneously on clutch and brakes (i.e. both feet in action) & c)line of sight through windscreen almost off top of screen.

    2) Hood frame fouls seats side on both sides of car when putting top down/is down.

    3) Reel inertia seat belts won't retract due to seats trapping belt against A post or hood frame

Moss seats VERY comfortable - much better than sitting on threadbare original seat frames.

Welcome any advice/guidance on how to position seats further back without drilling holes in the floor etc?

(Will not accept suggestions to a)return to old seats or B) use MX5 seats (yukky IMO) or c) medical height reduction procedures or d)shrinking pills etc :)

  3. Bill

    Thanks very much.

I've got MTK005 too - so I have those instructions in the pack - it's just that the pack is with the guy who looks after my TR for me, so I didn't have it to hand and couldn't get clarity on the subject from anywhere else.

Your input has been great and I think I understand it all now.

    Cheers

    John

  4. My TR6 is with my machanic guy who looks after it for brake overhaul and a few other odds and ends.

I purchased from Rimmers a Lumenition Magnatronic for him to fit at same time.

In the nick of time stopped him from fitting it when I read the letter in current edition of TRaction about "TR6 Ballast Resistors".

    Now I am confused.

Can someone direct me to unequivocal infomration on the subject or give me a briefing here? Thanks!

    Cheers

    John
