An alternative view. Why not fit narrow less sticky tyres. You will tend to spin the wheels if you push hard on the loud pedal, but gentle acceleration will be calm..

Is there somewhere that copies of the various Lucas service letters or service bulletins on the injection system would have been recorded/saved and stored?
I have seen a few items mentioned on the a Vitesse site, but I'm sure there must be many more.
Is this something that could be stored at Gaydon perhaps?
Any help would be much appreciated,
John
I have made available all the Lucas service bulletins I have. Gaydon do have an extensive library of resources, you can visit and read stuff and take notes read more: https://www.britishmotormuseum.co.uk/archive/access-the-archive-records. I have not checked the Gaydon resources for Lucas PI stuff. I would be interested to know what they do have.

This or similar will do it, just wire across the warning lamp (if you have a 3 pin flasher unit) or if a later car with only a 2 pin one, you will need a couple of diodes as well, I can tell you how to wire them if you need help.
Bob.
Further to above, If you have problems buying from CPC, I have an account there, & could order for you, & send on, together with instructions if you would like.
Easy to find on eBay for example: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/41-S86P120A-LF-Imo-Precision-Controls-Magnetic-Buzzer-12Vdc-/131596213710?hash=item1ea3beddce:g:Lk4AAOSwu4BVyr6m

Thats interesting Alex - I have added your info into my blog post about Lever Arm dampers: http://vitessesteve.blogspot.co.uk/2015/09/armstrong-lever-dampers-explanation.html
-
These type of dampers were used on many different cars and the bodies were a component common to many different applications.
You need one of each handedness on a Vitesse. The serial number may refer to a different application.
I will dig out my old units tomorrow to see what reference numbers are stamped on them. I currently have telescopics on the rear of my Vitesse.

The dampers are handed.
These are special adjustable version but you get the idea.

If you think oil and water may be mixing due head gasket failure can you see any oil in the cooling system or water in the oil?
What colour is the smoke? Oil tends to blue hue. Unburnt fuel to be a black soot. Water may appear as white clouds.

You may find the "Tuning SU Carburetters" booklet useful I have a copy on my website at: http://vitessesteve.co.uk/Other-manuals

Mal, Don't forget the disy pedestal, that might be tricky to find. Peter
I bought a new alloy one from Canley Classics a while ago. A well made component worth checking if still available.

I have updated the Lucas Petrol Injection Manuals page on my website: http://vitessesteve.co.uk/LucasStuff/Lucas_Petrol_Injection_Manuals It now includes a blue booklet called Petrol Injection System Fault Diagnosis that was published by Triumph. I scanned a copy owned by Ted Taylor.

Think about a Sprint engined TR7 - a great car.

Alec Pringle knowing my love of scanning and sharing stuff recently lent me a letter dated 17 February 1961 and attachments. The letter was sent from the factory to home market dealers and distributors with an update of exchange unit prices.
I have scanned it and attach a copy to this post.

I had the same problem and am running Firefox 46.0.1 on Windows 10. Firefox 47 is still in beta in the UK so not running that for now.
The banner image is being blocked by the ABP ad blocking addon. ABP seems to block images from http://www.tr-register.co.uk/uploads/but not other locations.
I have reported this false negative to ABP.

Hi Steve, I shall check on my documents I may have a nice advertise (Not a technical doc) related to, the introduction on the PI Lucas system; I shall scan on Monday
Regards
Thank you that is great. I have only seen this item for sale on eBay.
I would like to add this to my website. Can you do a higher definition copy because it is rather difficult to read some of the text.
I have posted it my blog http://vitessesteve.blogspot.co.uk/2016/01/lucas-petrol-injection-brochure.html
for now.
