I think it has been a club car at some stage.

Please don't tell me it has an awfull secret. It scored 180 points,I refused to give any "Excellents" unless the item was new or could only ever be an opinion.

That looks like a really cracking motor car! I hope you have many miles of enjoyable trouble - free motoring. Are you taking it to the IWE?

  2. The weather stopped me viewing the two posted above.

A V8 came up on Pistonheads and while it looks very nice as said on here a V8 is not a TR8 ! I would prefer something genuine and not "bastarised" however well the conversion is done.

One has come up on TRYoof ,a 2.0 Litre, which looks promising.

What constitutes bastardised? If it wasn't fitted at the factory then (like a V8 engine into a 2 litre car) where does it stop ?

No sporty steering wheel ? No poly bushes? No air freshener? No matter how well the air freshener was fitted?

    Just my humble opinion.

    Jo (lots of bastardisation )

I am currently running an 82 c thermostat. This is a Wahler large bore dia from a TVR griffith.

Temperature gauge runs steady just over 1/2 , But i have an alifab alloy radiator with a 16" puller fan. The temperature creeps up in summer traffic but the fan cools the engine down and switches off using the revotech electronic switch, The engine is also 5ltr from v8 developments.

Top hose on my engine is made from a combination of silicone with the sensor in the top hose , I have no distributor in the way (using coil packs) so I have a custom made thermostat housing that is straight out thus avoiding the kink upwards you get to avoid the distributor. The offenhauser manifold also has a capillary temperature sensor fitted for a more accurate reading. If you want any pics just email keith1alex@hotmail.com

What bhp does your 5litre push out?

  4. Hi Wayne

I have the Rover SD1 Vitesse wheels on mine; 5 stud but with the holes in the wheels drilled out to fit. 215/40/16 on the front, the rear sizes are in the earlier post. (245/45/16 ).

The rears do disappear into the arches!

  5. Hi Webby,

I have mastered how to resize a photo and upload into my attachments (see left) but I am struggling to get a decent sized pic as my signature at the bottom of my posts. Only got the tiny ones below. When I copy n paste from my attachments they are too big and I get an error message. What do I need to do?

    Many thanks

    Jo

  6. Thanks Alec.

I had the rear arches rolled just before Christmas to increase clearance. I replaced old worn tyres with brand new ones; the old ones cleared, the new ones caught slightly. I wondered if I had been too ambitiouse with 245/45/16?

    regards

    Jo
