As far as I know satin black is only on windscreen and rear panel (up to the valance joint). Some very early 6's had the body colour to the windscreen. The CP upto end of 72 had thin chrome strips at cills and CR series had a wider trim.
I decided not to put them on or the BL wing badges when I had the body restored because of introducing rivet holes and trapped water behind the trim.
I would like to know if my late (Sept 72) CP series is correct with a chrome trim to the grille and black bib spoiler. Was this fitted originally?

Just a quick update. I had the car at TR Bitz whilst we were swanning about the world for 11 weeks.
The list of 20 items had been done and the bill was very reasonable!
The vibration was caused by a front wheel bearing which was starting to disintegrate

Hi Stuart
I posted the reg no on the forum about 2 years ago and Bill Piggott came back to confirm it was known to him

Assuming I survive next 20 years I doubt I will recognise if its a TR or a hearse

IIRC Corten steel was developed in the US and primarily used for steel bridges so that the normal red or orangey anti rust paint coatings were not needed and thus saved millions of dollars in maintenance

Hi Roger
Can't say I liked it - peculiar smell and reminded me of the dreaded calamine lotion plastered on heat rashes when I was a kid (a very long time ago). Mind you it was never bought - the old man used to acquire it 'free' from his employer

That reminds me. Haven't seen Rozalex in a very long time?

I have to say the mohair hood I bought from Moss is good and made by CHS (Coventry Hood and Sidescreens) who were the original Triumph suppliers according to Moss catalogue

Re the clock - is it non working? I was told by S&S to disconnect battery and reconnect. After several tries it started working. Occasionally stops and restart same way. Have thought of quick spray with silicone but you can't get at it without removing?

Nit picking I know but .......
My Heritage Certificate says the colour is
Pimiento Red.
So is it a typo?
Also is there any truth in the rumour that the colour came about when the previous colour (which one?) in the spray guns contaminated the signal red ?

Thanks guys. I intend to do a limited resto and as the carbs need a dose of looking at the fuel supply would probably benefit as well. I was going to sell the car but the old bones are more comfortable in the 7 for longer journeys. The 6 will be kept for shorter trips although I do like pottering about France in it - just the slog down to Dover is the bugbear

Do your suggestions hold good for a cooking version 3.5 running on twin SU's?

I bought it from Amazon a couple of years ago for a lot less than cover or shop price. Just imagine my surprise at price on Amazon now. Better return than on a Surrey top!!
or even sillier

We always found motorcycle cops at the end of our motorway dash up to St Omer. I think they can look at your time of entry and exit on the toll card and it is a simple matter to work out the distance covered and hence speed. We always took a service break half way up which gives you some leeway!
