  1. Tightened up my wheel bearings-they were only a little loose, but a simple job reaped big improvements.

Yesterday ordered pair of standard ride height uprated front springs and a pair of Konis, will keep you all posted about the cars "deathtrap" handling capabilities.

PS. I have since my earlier posts driven another 4, this was possibly worse to drive than mine, except it didn't appear to bump steer, just vibrated so much it felt like it was about to take off!

  2. TR4tony (his ebay identity) has some for sale-bit steep though, he does post on this forum, but I can't recall his id here.

I posted a similiar wanted thread a few weeks ago, I think he may have posted a reply.

If you struggle to contact him, let me know, I'll search my emails.

  3. i would like to take this oportunity to enlarge the debat about tr3/4 cooling.

I have recorded 3 way to improve:

    -fitting a Kelowe fan.

-fitting a better radiator than original.

    -fitting an oil cooler.

I have no running experience with tr's as I am just at the full restoration process state, but I am wondering which one is the best improvement about cooling .

So, if you have experience with any of those improvement, please give us an advice.

    Thank you.

All of the above are good improvements, not sure about the worth of an oil cooler for non competition use, but so long as it's not shielding airflow too heavily, it shouldn't do any harm.

The Kenlowe/Pacet conversion is a stunning performance addition, makes the car smoother, quieter and faster.

However you can sort out reasonably priced supply yourself.

    Rob.

  4. Gentlemen, I think that if any of you are in the trade, and are suggesting a solution to readers by your business, I think it would be wise to clearly state that this is the case.

If you start a topic by offering a service or goods, then please ensure that this is only done in Buy/Sell/Trade.

    Thanks!

Just trying to help, as there has been an awfull lot of debate about cooling on this forum, you may note that I have also posted on buy/sell/trade. You may also notice that the price qouted is an awfull lot less than that being qouted for standard items by regular suppliers.

Essentially we have just worked through a common problem, and we are offering a solution to other "strugglers" like us.

I could always just post the phone number of the supplier, but why do a job twice?

Alec, your input was noted earlier.

  5. Hi

has anybody had a better performance modern day core fitted to their standard TR4 radiator housing, i have been having slight overheating problems and wondered if anybody knows of anybody selling radiators with more cores, or is using tr4a rad which i believe has four cores instead of three.

    advice very welcome

  6. The octane booster makes a hell of a difference, rob and i also fitted pacet fans and removed engine fan.The combination has made both of our cars much more free revving, and acceleration is very impressive for 40 year old cars. The cost is relatively low for the smile it puts on your face, give it a go you know you want to
