About Me

Bought the TR6 when I got tired of the Riley restoration about 14 years ago and needed something of interest to drive after a succession of 70 odd corporate cars. Spent at least as much time on the TR as the Riley. Retired Automotive Engineer, specialised in suspension design and development, later part of Corporate Quality group, specialised in field investigations, recalls,  product liability issues for export markets. Abhor field investigations involving fires: slow, dirty, painstaking work always under adverse conditions but get a motza as a consultant so I still do that. Still working on the Riley when not travelling, and now on a grabbing brake on the front of the TR6 [hence my first post] after rebuilding the injectors. Tackle anything: diffs, gearboxes,  suspension and steering, electrical systems, brakes, vehicle fires, collisions, inquests, liability cases. Into caravans as a side interest [and if you think some cars are rubbish try a caravan!].

Love the TR6. Brilliant to drive [1969 build,  PI], reconstructed by a succession of  8 previous owners, which practice I continue. Over 200, 000 km now [have the service records from 1983 onwards] and a continual joy to own.

Imported by Australian Motor Industries [now long gone], the distributor for Triumph products and others at the time in Australia, and sold new in 1970 into NSW, and  all the caretakers in practically every State in the land have all obviously loved it as much as I still do, which is why I plan to keep it until I can't get in and out of the driver's seat any more.
