  1. Whilst out for a leisurely drive in my 5 yesterday I lifted the indicator switch (revington stalk set) and the entire outer column turned ! so much so that the indicator wouldn't lock on, I continued my ldrive choosing to not let this small issue spoil what was otherwise an enjoyable journey, by the time I got home it was loose enough that even the wiper switch would twist the outer steering shroud before latching.

I have today reviewed the manual and tighted every possible fixing point of the outer steering shroud, to no avail !!!! can anybody help ?2018-05-28 18-53 1.pdf

  2. Thanks for your well wishes Mike, I believe with the fees CP1's total price was more like 56k and as you say not the best car for condition although a very special car all the same.

    Looking forward.

PS well done with your purchase, your very lucky.

  3. Ive been watching them for approx 6mths wanting to buy, good luck finding literally anything genuine under 35k with what I would call very nice but certainly not concours making 40 - 45k. Unless anybody can show me different, which I doubt as I have had a wanted ad on the Register to mostly no avail.

I am constantly being told values as the TSSC but this does not reflect the market at all. As well as classic car buyer quoting no's of 25k for a really good car in there price sections still, WHERE ?

Therefore following my last 6mths experience I would suggest the following :

    Special 55k+ (CP1 etc)

    Concours 50k+

    A1 45k+

    A2 35k+

    Runnig Project 30k+

    Dog 20k+ (Extremely Rare)

I have no experience of LHD (TR250) pricing as I am specifically looking for a Genuine UK RHD car, I am as always more than prepared to eat my words and purchase if and when somebody will show me different.

Hopefully Going to be proven wrong.

    Paul.

    REF Naughty Question

I am an absolute Triumph car and bike fan and have been for a very long time (particularly vintage bikes followed by cars) although I have no concept of value / price being a taboo subject, appreciating the value / price of your special vehicle is part and parcel of the ownership, so why should I ignore an appreciating asset because a certain select few believe price is irrelevant, Price is always relevant if it wasn't I would probably be posting on the Ferrari forum boasting about my 250 GTO.

  4. Wow having read all the possible fraud 5's that may be available I am extremely nervous about spending this amount of Money !!

    Does a heritage certificate ensure a genuine 5 ?

VERY NERVOUS, I obviously foolishly assumed if it looks like a 5 sounds like a 5 it must be a 5.

  5. Hi Andrew and Tom

Many Thanks for your warm welcome, I am a keen car and motorcycle enthusiast but up until recently have not been able to afford the investment to purchase the car I would be happy with, I am now in a position to make that purchase and am currently in the market for a TR5. Extremely excited to be in this position and really looking forward to finding my long awaiting car.

    Thanks Again

  7. Hi

Need some advice seriously considering spending the 40-50k on my dream TR5 and have come across some real stunning examples as you would expect, some of which have been furnished with a new chassis, I was absolutely hoping to buy an all original example but with prices escalating and open market cars becoming fewer I have to consider the possibility of compromising on my ideal.

I would love to know your thoughts / feelings on a TR5 with a new chassis, please dont hold back as I am interested in the good the bad and the ugly. many thanks for your time and i appreciate your honest opinion.

    Many Thanks Paul
