  1. Good afternoon

a question for you - having just bought a used fuel tank for my TR4 restoration how can you test the sender unit before installation - currently the body is still off so no wiring loom or gauges to assist !

    Thanks on anticipation

  2. Good morning all

having just got back to working on my 1962 TR4 (after moving house and restoration) a question for you , currently the body is off so no loom available - the wiper motor doesn’t look too bad , no signs of burn out or worn armature or any other damage .

But with the aid of a 12 volt battery I am unable to get motor to turn and despite reading various threads on the wiring (all very confusing) has anyone any suggestions on which terminals to connect to test it ?

  4. Hi

Having recently invested in my next project (1961 TR4 ) and about to lift the body off I was wondering :-

Is it possible to have an account and get discount (because of the TR Register ) with any of the major suppliers of TR4 bits ?

Or is it best just to shop around and get the best deal per item ( of which there will be a considerable amount ) ?

  5. Thanks Guy's

Really appreciate all the responses and welcoming comments, I haven't quite figured out how to get a shortcut to the forum communications

but will get there Im sure before long.

Am currently in France for a few weeks but have already been contacted by my local group which is The Vale of White Horse so look forward to

meeting up with them on my return.

Interestingly enough when I was changing the starter motor on my 1953 Ferguson Tractor I realised that the engine for that and the TR4 were both made by The Standard Motor Company !

    See you soon

  6. Hi Guy's

Having recently retired and dabbled in restoration on various things (my latest being an original Lambretta Innocenti 1964 vintage) i finally managed to get hold of a 1961 TR4 in not to bad order recently imported from Texas LHD of course but just what I wanted as it will spend it's time when restored in France.

So I am busy getting all the info together I can with a view to actually trying to do it properly in the right order etc. So my question is I have been looking on line for a reasonable book on how to achieve it and time and again the Roger Williams book how to restore a TR4/a comes up but I cant seem to find an e copy anywhere either in pdf format or epub - it would be really useful to be able to the e version.

Does anyone own a pdf or epub version of this book or know where I can buy one ?

    Thanks

    Alan
