  1. Hi Fellas.

i have a RHD 1959 TR3a. On the log book the first entry is a UK address in 1963. It states on the Heritage Certificate that the car when new went for 'Private Export' but does not list anything further. I am trying to build up the history file on this car and wondered if anyone knew if there was a way to find out who the original owner was?

Any help as always gratefully received.

    Thank you

  2. Hi Guys.

I guess a pretty basic question for you guys but….

Could anyone give us information on what year or engine number the engine went from 1991cc to 2138cc?

Also are there any distinguishing characteristics to be able to tell which is which just from looking at the engine?

    Thanks.

  3. I am struggling with this 1 if I'm honest. Whilst I can quite understand the potential for theft of a vehicle and using the V5 for transferring the vehicles identity isn't it just the same as if you buy a basket case that is more rust than anything? Surely the same thing could happen? Just throw away the rust and keep the V5 for transferring?

We have a project on at the moment where the chassis needs replacing the engine has already been replaced at sometime in the distant past and the body panels are pretty much all shot. We will rebuild this vehicle with parts from donor cars and at the end probably only 5- 10% will be original factory fitted parts. I don't really see where this is that much different to selling a V5 without the parts?

  4. Could anyone help with a solution?

We have a few TR's in from the USA and have noticed that there is a lot of what we are classing as a Tar or like Underseal on the chassis and running gear.

Does anyone know what it is and also if there is any solvent or chemical we could use to dissolve it?

    Any help greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

  5. Hi all.

Just signed up with TR Register as we have a few Triumphs that we are now restoring for our own collection.

Could anyone give us a bit of help in the right direction for 'Rebound brackets' for a TR3. Rimmers state that they are no longer available?

    Thanks for any help.

    Regards
