  1. Ok, I got the snaps! Another question, I posted a thread regarding my front sway bar and I just received all the parts. The front bushings are polyurethane and some guys say not to replace them as the poly one's squeak badly. True or false and is there a remedy?

  2. I just bought a new boot for my TR-250 and it came with plastic snaps that need to be installed. I took the boot to a local vintage top installer and he asked if I could get metal snaps vs the plastic ones. Does anyone know where I can get metal snaps as I checked and everyone sells the plastic versions? He also stated that my boot must be original equipment as it is real British Ever Flex and worth a few bucks.

  3. I have a 68 250 and a few days ago the driver's side sway bar link came apart. I thought I heard something clank in the front end and after getting under the car I saw that the link snapped off. I have since ordered 2 new TRW links which should be in on Monday. I read that the TRW links are more sturdy than the original ones. Is there anything that I should know regarding replacing them? They look eady enough to replace. Just bolt on to the frame and crank down the nut on the sway bar bushing I am assuming!

  4. So sorry to hear of your father's passing but his memory will live on through you. Yes there is a whole lot of lovin for TR's here! I will post a photo of mine shortly as I bought a white TR with red interior that was restored justbthis past October. The car was originally white with black interior but matador red interior was installed during restoration. I added 72 spoke wires and Goodrich Silvertown redlines. I bought a Jasmine Yellow brand new in 68 but when I got married, and our first child was coming, yep you guessed it, my little toy was the first to go. Well I have been very lucky to once again bring back those memory's!

  5. I recently purchased a 68 TR and I am looking for a Lucas Amp, Lucas Oil Pressure, and Lucas Temp guages. Does anyone have any idea where I can search for them? The car has decent guages in it now but I had a TR in 68 and just like the Lucas touch.

  6. I would like to thank everyone for their time and help and I just posted them in our club newsletter and will sell them at the best reasonable offer. If I get an 800/900 offer I will let them go and move on!

  7. "You guys" have a bunch of great looking rides as well!! Yeah Darren you are correct regarding steering with one finger and I as well went back to the two knee method. My wife gets a little shaky going around corners but I am not going to waste the money I spent on the donuts!

  8. Thanks Pete and Don as I believe you are exactly right as the wheels have SCP stamped on them. I will try to figure out what I should try to sell them, along with the tires, so that it is a fair price. I can not thank you folks for sending the links and research. I am the Commander of the American Legion in our area so if you ever have a need to be in this area the beer is on me!

  9. I think the wheels are Moss Motor Minilites but have received other suggestions. The tires are 205/70/15's so I think the wheels must be 15x6 at least. The Moss Motor mini's are 15x5 so I have no idea what they are. I just posted another post to see if nyone can help!

  10. I recently purchased a TR and it came with a set of "I an not sure" what they are wheels. I have received many suggestions of what they may be. I think they are a set of Moss Motor Minilites but not sure. I will try to get a photo uploaded but until then if someone has the time to go to Zappa Racing and click under cars for sale. Thumb down until you see a white TR with a sold sign on it. After there go through the slide show and view the wheels. I appreciate anyone that can take a moment to help.

    Thanks,

    Rich

  11. Brisbane Australia! There is no place more soothing and beautiful than Surfers Paradise! We vacationed there three times. Yes, I plan o sell the wheels but I think the shipping will be costly. The wheels have a U.K. Stamp on the edges, are they real panasports? Go to a site named Zappa Racing and thumb down to cars for sale. Thumb down to the white TR with a sold sign on it. That is the car I bought a look at the wheels in the slide show.

  12. I recently purchased a 68 White TR-250 and the car had a set of Bolt on Panasprt wheels and new set of Goodyear Assurance tires on it. This past week I replaced the wheels with a set of 15x6 chrome wires and a new set of B.F. Goodrich 205/65R/15 redlines. The car steers and feels 100% better than new! You can steer the car with one finger and the ride is truly amazing. Yes, it was a bit pricy as the wires were approx 1900 with shipping and the tires were approx 1100 with shipping but extremely well worth it. I think I will go out for a cruise now!

  13. I just bought a restored White TR-250 last week. What I am trying to do is find any production data. Data such as how many were produced in all colors, how to breakdown serial numbers, any anything else. I know that 8484 of them were sent to the U. S. but that is all that I can find. I am going to replace the Panasport wheels with a new set of 60 spoke wires and redline tires.

    Thanks,

    Rich
