many thanks for the feedback / in the end I polished them with a mop in a pistol drill on high speed (the drill not me ) and professional polish soap the brown hard wax that melts on the mop then normal chrome/ally polish they look like new and it took about half hour per wheel the mop was 6inch dia not really hard work in the end

searched this site but could not find any articles so I am hoping someone can help . I have had 3 company's tell me they cannot help with polishing these wheels I have had ago but its hard work to say the least . it seems they are only interested in diamond cutting polish and painting all I want is polish only based in herts thank you for any advice

when I purchased my inner and outer door weather strips for my 4 the inner were bent the wrong way and the stainless was at the bottom when it should be on the top to finish the door top so I sent them back to moss when I did not hear anything I phoned to be told they were right as the stainless trim was so it fitted into the clip but I asked them to look at the photo of my 4A door top which I sent them which has not been messed with (I know this as I purchased it 38 years ago from the original owner) also brooklands book triumph tr4 @ 5 1961 to 69 page 73 top right corner shows the stainless on top ( just visible). I was then told they cannot get them with stainless top and bottom ?? so I got them back formed them the correct way round . they fitted into the clip perfectly and the door is finished properly it makes a lot of difference just looks so much nicer which is why standard triumph done it . don't know about you guys but its not hard to see why so many are not done right with advice like that

your right I will put it on the pqi form as I cannot see the point on buying things that are not fit for purpose not the cost just the waste of time

many thanks for your help guys thought I would say the link stuart sent (second from last comment ) is the way to go . it takes minutes the part that says lever in last / centre plate last truly inspired god knows how much time that saved me kettle always on for you chaps

has anyone had this problem ? the rear bolts from moss are 1 inch long and by the time the washers are fitted leave about two threads to go into the lid . when I phoned moss they said that's all they had and no complaints the top is original so the bolts have to be about 1/4 inch short do I buy the fronts and cut down to size thanks again for any replies
-
is there a knack to fitting the spring clips that hold the rear wheel cylinders girling ? also I purchased the bolts and spacers for fitting the lid on the hardtop but in the manual there are no spacers are these an aftermarket idea to prevent over tightening thanks in advance for any help

I've had my 4A for 38 years 67 on an F registration Valencia blue with tan trim (code 13 I think) all original but I purchased a 19 62 4 a few months ago and thought to hell with it / its now mg x power grey metallic with black and grey trim . all original apart from that no one so far has not liked it

hi I purchased both screen rubbers from moss the front fits a treat but the rear seems to big by about 35mm . I'm happy to fit the front as I have done this before but the rear worries me as its not laminated and looks fragile the screen fitters will not insure against breakage as the screens are free issue and original any tips or can any one recommend a fitter in the A10 area ware/ hertford / Royston thanks chris

hi Richard many thanks for this detailed reply I have removed the light switch and after a clean could see the numbers you show in the picture the only difference is the dip I have the large type (tr3 or early 4 ) spades all in a line but I am sure when the light switch is wired right the dip will be process of elimination . famous last words regards chris

pfenlon thanks for the link but that's what I was looking at also looked at the tr3 diagram thinking as its an early car I may have that wiring instead but that was a no go / Paul i have a manual but not Haynes so if you can find the time to look at yours any info would be most welcome regards chris

It looks a nice car the only thing I notice and what malbaby may mean is front end photo of wing and grill fit drivers side and bonnet slope to nearside makes it look one headlamp lower than the other . Adjustment if it bothers any one of maybe a bad photo .
