We bought from Stoneleigh what we thought was the correct glue for the front of the new hood , it was clamped too to help the bonding but it hasn't adhered properly. Has anyone got any advice on the proper adhesive to use

We were out bid on the tr6 dash that has just ended on ebay. My O/H did a beautiful walnut burr dash on our previous gt6, but it took more than a fewvdays to complete more like weeks. It was worth it in the long run but the layer of varnish , preparation, clamping & gluing was very tedious.

If anyone has the roll cage fitted its an easy £25 job.we bought the fine mash locally, had an edge sewn on to it .added black popper studs evenly,& drilled the other side of the studs into the roll cage & it works a dream

Apparently GT6 SWITCH will fit your type of ignition switch , just checked the part number & they are the same.get back to me if you want anymore info. We have a spare one if you want it

Asked O/H. Not an easy task.1st disconnect the battery MUST.if your ignition switch is on the column, easier job that on the dash. You can get the replacements from Rimmers

Hi everyone. Well our 73 TR6 is nearer completion, full restoration.we did have fun last year in it going to rallie& just cruising, about, but being original 40 years old it did need some tlc. Everything body wise has been replaced. We are now in the process of putting on the new hood, our lounge floor has it splayed out.we are following the american process- buckeye I think- good step by step illustrations & info. O/ H resprayed the mimosa yellow with 2 pack paint without the harmful cyanates in it & has had good results, I will post some pics on here as soon as we are on the road again (cant wait)

Cheers Anne & Rick

O/H has tried the chrome paint but it comes out grey. Had a word with TRGB & they say nobody over here doing them with chrome anymore- so as we going to Stoneleigh March 2nd - we will have to have a good look round - may pick one up. Thanks for the replies

Has anyone come across the tr6 side repeater lens with the chrome surround. Most replacements are just amber with no chrome insert. We have one -which is ok but the other side needs replacing. Has anyone any ideas where we can get probably get a new set of two with the chrome inserts
-
we had the hood cover from Don hoods very good cover & will get new hood from them in due couse - the original on our tr6 is still reasonable. only had to put it up couple of times last summer

My O/H is doing a full body restoration. On the whole the shell is in good repair. He is doing one side at a time taking off the doors & bonnet/boot lid separately. The colour is Mimosa yellow& we are keeping it tothe original colour. Ithas had a respray in the past with 2 pack paint & the top coat again will be 2pack as -this is a very hard & very good paint to use.All the preparationwhich takes a lot of work & time to get a good finish.Anything he can help you with - just let us know - he recently restored a GT6 which we sold to fund the restoration of our present TR6
Hope to be back on the road April/May time
We will be going to the Stoneleigh show too - usually lots of spares there & all the triumph traders & this year the MGB people included
New Door Hinges

our new door hinges dont fit properley. They had to be cut/ rewelded before they would let the door line up properley. Consequently- paint had been chipped & this has had to be redone too- on both sides. They have been a real "pain" With the new door cards - it was a job to shut the passenger door at all- all down to these new hinges
