[TR4 a history]

This is all new to me so hope I don't get it wrong!!

Trying to find any history or previous owners of 1966 TR4A HWN487D frame no CTC 70172 O now about to be put back on the road so any information would be gratefully received.

Hi All,

Arthur Phillips sent me an identically worded email for a tr6 gearbox I have for sale unfortunatley he miss read the advert and thought he was getting a complete TR6 for £850, I did email him to point out the mistake and had a reply to say the deal could still go ahead if I sent him all my details!!!!

IN his dreams.Needless to say no further contact.

Hi Alan,

The rebuilt unit is an overdrive one missing the O/D, hence the problem with the wrong addaptor plate.

Hi Folks,

Can anybody help!!

I removed the gear box from a TR4 today to use the Atype overdrive unit on a re built unit, on removeing the addaptor plate from the old unit it would not fit the new unit, due to the fact it is flat on the inside and isn't ressed to take the counter shaft and reverse fork rod.On inspection the number stamped on the box on the LHS by clutch shaft is 30 F/ 59. DOES ANYBODY know what this box is ??it has been in the TR 4 for at least 15 years and works perfectly. The gearbox is crunching when you try to select 3rd and 4th.Has any body got the correct addaptor plate they want to get rid of?????
