Hi Nicola,
I fitted a powerspark unit from simonbbc 2 years ago. Its dead easy to fit - just like changing the points - and have had no problems at all. I kept the points and condenser in the boot - just in case.

Vince.

Hi John,
have used this from Simonbbc for over a year now with no problems at all. Dead easy to fit and can also revert back to poins if required.

Hi Steve, I had a similar thing recently with mine. I had the wife pushing down on the clutch pedal with me under the car measuring the actuating rod - the rod was retacting slowly. It turned out that the seal in the Master Cylinder was on the way out although not leaking into the car. Replaced the Master Cylinder and now all is ok.

Vince.

I did the same end of last year, with gloss white inside the cases and removed the blue plastic covers, standard bulbs and they illuminate a treat.

Hi John,
try swapping injector with another one (not No 2), if that one still fouls then it's a injector problem, if not then its in the line somewhere.

Alan,
my switches were originally black, that's why I sprayed them that colour. I needed some there and then, Clear Hooters were not available at that time so I bought Lucas ones. Both mine had broken, so technically making it illegal to drive with inoperable washers and wipers.
cheers,
Vince.

Hi, I recently replaced the washer and wiper switch on my CP. I filed the backplate and sprayed the chrome surround satin black after masking the switch front. the wiring as I remember was a direct swop - I did check the contacts with a meter first. The washer has 2 terminals and the wiper has 4. I think the terminal numbers are in the same order as well.

Vince.

Did you lose the green shades for the bulbs or keep them?
John, I broke them off, some were already broken anyway, get a better light without them.

"Dash is coming out this week and I can sit at home and refurb the guages at my leisure."
John, I have just stripped and cleaned my gauges, sanded and sprayed them gloss white inside, I bought seals from http://www.jdo10.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/page11.html, I was also guided by this brilliant site http://www.74tr6.com/gauges.htm. Much cleaner and clearer now, even show up in the dark!
Hope this helps.

Hi all knowledgeable ones, does anyone know the colour/paint code or closest match used on steel wheels for the TR6.

Robin,
If you cannot get the horn button off, then locate the purple/black horn wire on the looms that come out of the column, disconnect the wire and put a meter (lowest ohms range) on the wire, other meter probe to earth, should get a zero ohms/short circuit reading when horn is depressed.

Bill, stupid question, the leads are on the cap in the right order aren't they - 1,5,3,6,2,4? 1 and 2 swapped over?

Oil leak on speedo
in TR6 Forum

While the dash is out - replacing the heater for a Clayton unit, I noticed that oil was dripping from the speedo where the drive cable screws on. Is there a seal gone possibly on the right angle fitting on the gearbox?

Vince.
