TR Lincs "Drive It Day 2024" Run
Drive-it-Day – Sunday April 21st, 2024.
This year our Drive-it-Day run will be to the Lincolnshire Road Transport Museum, Whisby Road, North Hykeham, Lincoln. LN6 3QT.
The museum has free entry up to 11.00am on that day, so the plan is for all of us to arrive at about 10.30am. After 11.00am the cost will be £5.00 per adult.
As usual there will be two starting points for group members to gather at for the run to the museum. From the south or east of the county the meeting point will be at the Sleaford services, Holdingham roundabout, junction of the A17 and A15. Meet in the car park behind the BP garage next to the Travel Lodge and food outlets.
Post code NG34 8NP. We must leave here at 10.00am in order to arrive by 10.30am.
From the north the meeting point will be the Market Place, Wragby. Please arrive in time to leave in convoy at 10am in order to arrive by 10.30am.
Others who live close to Lincoln / Newark may want to go straight to the museum from home.
The museum has a variety of cars, buses, motorcycles, and commercial vehicle dating back many years, teas and coffees are available at the museum.
Lunch has been arranged at the near by Royal Oak pub in Aubourn (about 15 mins away). The menu is available by clicking HERE and once you have decided please pre-select your choices by filling out the choices form by clicking HERE
Note our table is booked for 12.00, therefore we must leave the museum at 11.40 in order to be seated for 12.00. Also note that arranging a booking in the area has been challenging as many pubs do not want to take a large booking on a Sunday lunchtime. Therefore, the Royal Oak has limited our numbers to 36 people, the earlier you send in your food selection the better chance you have of securing your seat. If our numbers pass 36 people, we have also arranged for a second pub to take the additional people. We will let you know when the Royal Oak booking is full and what the alternative arrangements are.
On the day a map will be provided to get you from the museum to the Royal Oak or the alternative should that be required.
