TR Tours - TRs and Trabants in Romania - July 2022 - ONLY A FEW PLACES LEFT

TR Tours has partnered with Classic Car Holidays to offer members a new adventurous tour in 2022 which would see TRs and Trabants together on the spectacular roads of Romania. Classic Car Holidays are a new partner for TR Tours, here is what they say about themselves:

TR Tours has been working with Classic Car Holidays to put together a special tour for both TRs and Trabants together on the spectacular roads of Romania. The start and end point would be Bucharest and include the Transfagarasan Highway, UNESCO Sibiu, Bran (Draculas) castle, and historic Brasov among other overnight stops and en route places of interest.

Each day is roughly 2-3 hours elapsed driving time (except the Tranfagarasan which is longer) and we find that with numerous stops and a spot of lunch, plus amazing destinations to explore in the evening, this the best blend of great driving roads and rapid immersion into the culture and people that make up Romania.

There are two options for you to choose from:

a) Drive your own TR out to Bucharest to join the tour. There are many en-route options including Motorail for part of the route, or

b) Fly out to Bucharest and rent one of Classic Car Holidays' small fleet of Trabants.

The TRs and Trabants tour is from 3rd July to 9th July 2022 on a 7 day 6 night (Sunday to Saturday) basis using the standard tour itinerary: Romania Revealed

Accommodation is based on x2 persons sharing and has been selected based on the need for dedicated hotel parking for up to 20 vehicles. The standard of accommodation is scheduled to be in x5 VERY solid 4 star hotels and x1 good 3 star hotel

Tour prices per person are as follows (Booked with 20% deposit by 6th April 2021):

TR self drive: £630 plus overnight security

Classic Car Holidays Trabant: £1080

This proposal is based on 2021 pricing, and reflects the dedicated parking requirement and associated uprating of hotels for this tour. This offer remains valid until 6th April 2021.

The price is based on 10 (minimum) to 20 cars (x20 - 40pax) including a maximum of x6 Trabants.

For the Trabant option, prices exclude flights, which if booked early should be very affordable. The prices also exclude lunch and dinner. Food and drink can be very cheap but as we are covering large towns/cities, great food of any description and budget would be available.

Other tour costs such as accommodation, airport transfers* and loan of CCH equipment and technology for example are included in the price* (*for Trabant clients)

Parking is generally free but there may be a couple of places of interest where a small parking fee would be required. Fuel will be at client cost and there will be no formal mechanical support for this tour.

Overnight vehicle security on the tour can be provided by a 3rd Party. Classic Car Holidays (CCH) will make suitable arrangements with the 3rd party once the provider has been selected. The cost of this security will be shared equally amongst the number of TRs taking part. No administration charge for arranging this service will be charged by CCH.

I have confirmation from TR Register Insurance that all countries within the EU are included in their standard TR insurance policy and the emergency European breakdown assistance, if you have taken the option. Please check your policy wording carefully.
