Windsor Forest TR 25th Anniversary Celebration

This special landmark deserves special recognition, so we are organising a weekend set of events in the area that inspired the club's name, Windsor Forest.

There are a number of distinct 'stages' during the weekend. You are welcome to attend any or all of the stages as you wish.

Activities

Stage 1:The weekend starts with a countryside run in Hampshire / Oxfordshire / Berkshire (details TBC). After a relaxing lunch break, we will ride over to Windsor Forest & Great Park for some memorable photo opportunities.

Stage 2: A celebration dinner on Saturday night at the De Vere Beaumont Estate in Old Windsor. To help us celebrate in style, plan to dress in Black Tie or suit & tie and posh frocks. Dinner is a 3-course set menu in a private dining room with music and some other entertainment. Teas and coffees are included with dinner and of course there are a wide choice of beers, wines and spirits available to purchase.

Stage 3: An overnight stay at the De Vere on Saturday night. The De Vere Beaumont Estate is quite impressive and is located in 42 acres of parkland in Old Windsor. We plan to complete the run and check-in at the hotel by mid-to-late afternoon to give you a few hours to do as you please. You may want to make use of the pool and gym facilities, perhaps take a 10 minute stroll to the Magna Carta site, or simply unwind in your room or at the bar!

Stage 4: After a leisurely breakfast at the hotel on Sunday you may decide to head for home directly or, if there is sufficient demand, we will set off on a run for home with the option of tea / coffee /cakes in the afternoon.

Additional Information

The WFTR Committee are considering whether to subsidise this landmark event in some way, for example by acquiring some branded mementos marking our 25th anniversary or a subsidised afternoon tea . Any such gift will be awarded to members that attend any part of the weekend.

The prices for dinner and/or accommodation at the De Vere Estate are shown in the registration details below. The room rates are non-refundable. We will contact you shortly after you register to confirm how you should contact the hotel to pay for your stay.
**The room rates below are the best fixed price that the hotel have offered to us. As you may know, hotel bookings are managed in a similar way to airline ticklets, so there are special offers on the website for a small number of rooms from time to time. It would be worth looking and grabbing one of these if you find one.

We recently visited the hotel to look around the facilities and were very impressed. Here are some notes on the room types that we saw:

• The Standard Guest rooms are very nicely decorated and furnished, but you should be aware that they are a 4-5 minute walk from the reception, restaurant, bar and our private dining room in the White House area.
• The White House and Wessex Deluxe rooms are larger and closer to everything.
• The White House suites are expensive, but they are VERY nice!
