Kennet Valley TR Group Mid Monthly February - Snowdrops

Due to cancellations of bookings, this event has been cancelled, you of course may still go along, but if you want lunch at the Five Bells, please book directly, thank you. We apologise for this cancellation, the Committee can only organise events not guarantee members will attend.

Kennet Valley TR Group mid monthly for February 2020 is another visit to Welford Park, it is renowned for beautiful displays of snowdrops.

Snowdrops are nearly always found in abbey ruins and graveyards, and were planted by Norman monks as a symbol of purity and the cleansing of the earth after winter. Some of the greatest snowdrop displays in England were all originally monastic sites ie Walsingham Abbey, Hodsock Priory, Anglesey Abbey and Welford Park.

If the weather is poor it’s no problem to bring your everyday car along, or if you would like just to come along and have a nice lunch with fellow members, that’s fine too!
